Hey Everyone!
I wanted to start a new thread for Fall 2020 applicants at Mountain View, since I didn't find one already here. Let's see if we can help eachother out and answer some questions for eachother. Currently, I have 35 points, but will be applying with about 40, I believe. I'm wondering if that is competitive? Also, I need to get my physical, titers, and vaccines, but don't have health insurance. Any ideas where I can get them done at a decent price? I found a website but I am not sure if they will accept stuff from there....

Hey,
so how do we calculate the points for admission into the program? I will be applying for fall 2020 but didn’t know it was based off points?
My bad! I posted the exact same post for el Centro's program. I dont think there is points for mountain view. Sorry about the confusion! I'm kind of confused on their application process, honestly.
This is the ranking system for mountain view.

Oh my gosh, I was just about to ask how the heck did you get your points so high for Mountain View lol. I'm applying for both El Centro and Mountain View as well.
MVC does do their application process with points. Their website is a bit confusing to navigate around.

You can use this to calculate points for MVC

I just got in to MVC spring 2020 and Brookhaven but I chose MVC. I had 17 points when I applied to MVC and 28.60 to Brookhaven. Be sure you have as many prerequisites done as you can, it will help with points. Try to apply to Texas Tech El Paso CENP program also. This will help when they look at your application because they will ask for your plans after ADN if you go straight to BSN. Good luck!

Is that something you apply for when you get accepted into the program? Or something you apply for at the same time with the nursing application?

You can apply as soon as you can even if you are still applying to either MVC or Brookhaven. These are the 2 DCCCD colleges they have agreement with. Texas tech El Paso will allow you to take 2 classes from them pending your RN license.

With those two classes, are they during nursing school? If so, do you think it'll be a huge workload and manageable?
You can take them before nursing school and Brookhaven will give you 6 points for them. MVC at least when I applied does not give points for those 2 classes. RN to BSN at Texas Tech has 10 courses so when you are finished with those 2 courses, you will only have 8 more to gt to graduate.

Oh wow, I that's so cool! I didn't know they had this. Did you apply and get accepted?
