I wanted to start a thread for the Nursing Program at Motlow Fall 2017?
Where does everybody stand?
What are the new requirements meaning for the Program? Does this mean less applicants this year?
From Motlow's website - Nursing A.A.S. One-Year Application Checklist - Motlow State Community College
Have all learning supports completed.
Email a scanned copy of your LPN license to [email protected] no later than 4:30 CST on January 31, 2017.
Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 at the end of 2016 fall semester.
Complete all pre-requisite courses (ENGL 1010, PSYC 1030, BIOL 2010 and 2020, and BIOL 2130) by the end of the 2017 spring semester.
A & P and Microbiology, if already taken, must have been taken within five years of beginning the nursing program and completed with a grade of a "C" or better.
Raindog. The GPA cut off was fall of 2016. The emails are being sent out no later than the 2nd week of April. Where did you get your information?
Here's an excerpt from Motlow's website for the Nursing A.A.S. One-Year Application Checklist:
If that means my GPA from last semester is all that will be taken into consideration, the next five weeks will be a lot less stressful!
Raindog. I think that means you just have to have the pre reqs done by spring of 2017. The GPA will be taken from the fall before.
Got this from the site as well.

- Have a 2.75 college grade point average or greater on a 4.0 scale. Grade point average is calculated using only the required courses for the Nursing Program completed at the end of the fall semester prior to admission to the Nursing Program.
I never caught that bit of information before, but the equivalent requirement for the one-year program is similarly worded.
Thank you for setting me straight... that means my 782 point score is secure even if my GPA slips a little over the next few weeks!
I'm just finishing up A&P II and Microbiology, which are my only remaining prerequisite classes... not that I'm gonna become a slacker now, but it's a huge relief to know that I only have to finish them with a C average.
It's also nice to know that I shouldn't have to wait until the end of the semester to find out if I'm one of the lucky 20... getting really anxious now!

Hospcorp : the selection process is different from that of the generic students. The bridge points are just HESI and GPA combined out of 800 total points.
