Fall 2017 Motlow Nursing Program

Nursing Students School Programs

I wanted to start a thread for the Nursing Program at Motlow Fall 2017?

Where does everybody stand?

What are the new requirements meaning for the Program? Does this mean less applicants this year?

So...I got on the waitlist. I don't think I'll get in this year, but it's okay. I had a "smallish" breakdown on Friday LOL, but moving on to plan B. Learned a hard lesson, it's important to get academic counseling! This is the first college I've gone too, and I have all A's in all my classes..but 16 years ago (I'm old-ish), I took a CLEP test(just the test, not the a class) in the military for psychology and passed with a B. I had no idea that was on my transcript, and that brought my GPA down. Definitely a shock and sucked because I didn't know. BUT...moving forward, maybe will apply to MTSU Spring and Motlow Fall..plus, I'll have those final 25 A&P points by next week LOL. Wanted to wish everyone a great start in the program, and congratulations again!!!

So, was your overall points still 607? They sent more letters today ....

Hey you guys, just wanted to let everyone know that someone started a Facebook group for all those who were accepted to mingle! It's called Motlow Nursing Class of 2019. See you all at orientation!

Hello, everyone! Someone just pointed me to this thread...... My name is Chris Smith and I was recently accepted into the program as well. To everyone who also was accepted, congratulations! To those on the waiting list..... good luck and hold on tight. Those who will have to reapply, don't give up hope yet. Sometimes life takes twist and turns, but that doesn't mean you can't end up on the mountain top with a heck of a view.

Also, I did start the facebook group mentioned above. If you'll let me know your name, I can approve your request to join. You may send me a friend request here if you'd like: Page Not Found | Facebook

The facebook group is located here: Log into Facebook | Facebook

Congrats and welcome! Let's do this!

Hospcorp, did they say where you are on the waiting list?

Not holding my breath for placement, but they said "top 20" for me.

I have room for improvement and I am not giving up.

Best of luck to you and grats to those who made it!

Do y'all know if we will get a list of books needed at the orientation on the 16th?

Yea. We get that on the 16th, is what I was told

Hey everyone! I am selling my nursing books! I just graduated from Motlow this year! They are either the newest edition or right below. I bought the newest editions when I started. I have everything but fundamentals.... find me on facebook and message me if you are interested!!! (Lauren Ashmore) Good luck to everyone! It's hard, and be ready to hunker down and give up your life for the next 2 years! It's worth it!! :)

I was told by Nancy and an I structure that the ciriculum changed and there would be new books.

Hi! My daughter started the Nursing Program last Fall, but then stopped classes at Christmas to pursue a different direction. I have all of her textbooks and supplies that we helped her purchase. Please message me if any of you are interested in purchasing any of the books. I am selling everything for exactly half of what we purchased it for......Firm because it is such a great deal!!!! So message me if you are in need of any books, white lab coat, or stethoscope. Congratulations to all of you!!! It is a wonderful Nursing Program, it just wasn't a good fit for my daughter, but a great program and you should be congratulated for getting in!!!

I'm not applying for 2018 but I will be for 2019. I have a BS but is a non nursing degree. I'm fairly certain everything will transfer. I have to retake A&P2 and Micro, even though I taught these while in grad school. Ugh. It's been a long while since I've been out of school so I'm very concerned about the HESI. Nothing I can do about GPA although I graduated w honors. But that helps zero w HESI!!!! I'm wondering if there's a HESI course in addition to the self help study. Anyone know?
