Fall 2018 Miami Dade College

Updated:   Published

Starting this thread for anyone that have questions or concerns about the 2018 fall nursing program at Miami Dade College. I have a 4.0 science gpa and studying to take the hesi by the end of February. I also plan on applying for the generic full time as well as the accelerated program because I'm not sure which one I want yet. I already have a bachelors from FIU and I literally started all the prerequisites the summer of 2017. If anywho took those sequences can you please share your stories? Pro and con.. And also what is the hesi like!

Anyone have more info on the whole three wave thing? Or does anyone know how long the acceptance process takes? Trying to get a good idea.. I have a more competitive profile than many who have already been accepted but no news yet ? congrats guys!!

Hello jejo10,

Which program did you apply?

Whats your cs?

We got called by the 16th.

I've head of a case in which mdc lost their application of a guy already, so you might wanna start heading by medical campus and ask if they have submitted your application.

@robi02, 90 on the HESI and 4.0 GPA. I applied for pt and ft generic. The admissions/registration department lost the paperwork for my hsc course exemption but they said it doesn't affect the admissions process. IDK though. Is it just me or are the people working in these offices super irritable/unwilling to help?

OMG!!!

These people are definitely the most unprofessional people I've ever met.

Did you go to the campus and speak with them?

We have a link posted here (I think is in page 16,17 or 18)

We are running like chickens without head due to timelines that we have to meet before july 12th.

I am very sorry for what you're going through, hopefully, they call you these days you still have time until the end of the month to sort of know if you are getting accepted or not.

Yeah you might have to keep up on them. Who told you it doesn't affect the application process? Yes it does. I didn't get anything either. I applied for the accelerated program and they never even checked my transcript í ¾í´¦*♀️. They send out the next batch after the deadline once people from the first accept their seats. So contact them ASAP through email or walk in cause they're not taking calls

Lily Lindo in admissions said that they send her a list of the students who have been accepted to see which have outstanding paperwork/requisites. She said it wouldn't get in the way of getting accepted unless the student is unable to meet the requirements before the deadline. The deadline is the 25th, right? Is it fair to assume the second round of acceptances will go out that week?

Hey All just to let everyone know it's two background checks needed

1. Medical Student needs to be completed every year.

2. Nursing AHCA lasts for five years.

If you need to confirm this information contact Ms. Sophia Reeves at 305-237-4474 [email protected]. You can also contact Ms. Niambi Jackson at 305-237-4072 [email protected].

They are both in the nursing department and they are the contacts list at the bottom of the website with your orientation date and step to complete.

Good Luck!

Yes sometimes Tuesday or Wednesday I think.

I'm sure you guys will here something on Tuesday because we have until Monday to pick which program we wanted. For example, I was pick for generic and Accelerated and I turned down my seat for Accelerated and I know 4 others that has as well that stated so in the WhatsApp group we formed. So that's 5 seats already. So stay positive and Tuesday will be here before you know it! good luck you guys.

Hey guys! I am applying for the 2019 Spring Accelerated option and was wondering how to calculate the competitive score? (As well as how to get the science gpa in order to calculate it)

Is your science gpa x 10

Your hesi score x .60

Then add those together and that'll be your competitive score

To calculate your CS multiply your SCIENCE GPA x 10, and your HESI score x 0.6. Then add both. good luck man!
