Fall 2018 MDC

Hi my name is Lina. Before may 1 I'll be applying to the general full time and part time options. I'm currently taking the last of my pre reqs. I'll be taking the HESI sometime in March. I'm curious to see if I've had any classes with any of you. Good luck to everyone.

Hey Bran! I'm also taking intro to HC and microbiology this semester as well as a&p too.

Also I calculated your overall score and if you get an A in microbiology it would put you at a very competitive 86% if you kept your 3.75 GPA it would be 85% which is still great.

@scasttt Yes I think you can private message me

Thanks, Lina!!! good luck on the 28th go over your A&P that is my favorite class and still struggled on the hesi.

@scasttt Yes I think you can private message me

It isn't letting me private message you because I haven't posted 14 threads. If you can do you mind posting on here how the exam went and what were its most difficult questions, and what kind of questions would they ask?

Hello Lina, you know that you can always use pocket prep on your computer. just google it and follow the pc version. That's it.

Practice Vocabulary from the book and from another source like quizlet Hesi a2 Vocabualry. or something like that. Stay on top of it because you will see some wierd words you never seen before.

For math I got a lot of word problems and was hell for me eventhough Im good at math. what rreally brought my score down was Grammar, I really hated the way they did this test. it was to find out what was wrong wit the sentence and you had to check for eveything: subejct verb agreement, misspelling, ir any grammar mistakes what you suppose to know. I got a 76 on this subject :(

A&P 92, Chem 92, Bio 80, Math, 84, Reading 84. so because of grammar I went down to 84, and my GPA is 4.0, so I hope I have a good chance to get in the program. I also applied for both full and part-time.

Good luck with your studies, you will get through this.

@Robi02 can you tell us a little bit more about the chemistry and biology sections what do we have to know?

Chemistry wasn't hard for me. It is very basic and broad but they do ask you a little bit of eveything of Chem 1033 thing like redox, the periodic table, moles, molarity, conversions, the three chems but very very basic. Biology was more difficult for me since i've taken microbiology and the test is more biology than microbiology. you have to know cellular respiration, a must! learn it in and out. plants also, that's where I failed the most, because I had no clue about plants, or their cell function. I actuallly can't recall literally but it was a question that asked me a scientific name of a plant, idk. Anatomy was also an easy subject for me, but remember I like this subject anyway. I did very good in college on all my anatomy classes and I always read about it, maybe that is what helped me, and made it easy. The anatomy section ask you about bones, mucles, eyes, brain, most of the systems, and hormones. learn hormones, those by heart. I believe that with enough preparation you can do really well in your test. good luck! BTW What's your GPA?

Right now I have a 3.8 but I'm missing the grades from this semester for microbiology and a&p 2.

hello there, theres a quizlet page called istayconfused that has pocket prep questions transcribed into sets of anatomy and phys, bio, and chem i think. honestly the test was a lot easier than i had imagined in my head and the book that helps is the elsevier 3rd edition, the 4th is the same but i just so happen to have used the 3rd for my hesi. chem was my weakest percentage on pocket prep and i ended up getting a 96 on the hesi lol. i focused on the sciences and not so much on the reading, vocab, and math (they are super super basic questions on the test) good luck to you all

Hello ikaytee, could you tell us what is your gpa please?

Thank you.

I'm planning to retake the test in april, hopefully I can improve my score.

hello! i applied with a 3.0. im already in the program. chose the bridge option although i got accepted into generic as well. its tough out here guys but i have a solid B. it all depends on the competition of people that are in the application pool. i got a 92 on my hesi and ive met people that got the bare minimum on it as well and got in, it all just depends. i got in on my 4th time applying, 2 times to generic 2 times to bridge
