Fall 2011 Los Angeles County College of Nusring

Published

Has anyone applied to Los Angeles County College of Nusring ADN program? I will be submitting my application and am wondering if anyone is on the same boat. Thanks! :-)

For you guys who are actively browsing this thread, do you guys know what was the point cut off for the spring 2011 admissions? Also, if you guys dont mind me asking, how many points do you guys have, so we can get a feel of what the cut off might be for this application period.

ok. Thank you. kosmic2003.

Did anyone take the TEAS version 4 before they had to take the version 5 for this college?

The Spring 2011 cutoff was 80 pts.... I know this because I only had 77 pts and received a letter indicating I did not have enough points. I have 84 going into this application period, so I hope that's enough for Fall 2011. The waiting bites!

Hi Snookie...

Was this for the generic route or the lvn-rn...also when did you receive your letter???

Thank you

It was the generic route, and I received my letter back on December 10th, (because it was for Spring 2011). I haven't heard for Fall 2011 yet. I'm told that letters will go out sometime in May or June. Although the website says beginning May 15th, it seems that they run a little behind their posted schedule.

Ohhhh ok...thanks for your reply.

I just called and they say the letter will not be sent out until june. Man that is way too long of a wait. My score is 83 so I don't even know can I get in or not. Is like at the edge. So worry. Citrus accepted me but would like me to take the TEAS test again at their site next week which is when I am 38 wks pregnant. I don't think I can take a 4 hours test at this time. I should just pass on it but...I can't make a decision. Any one would like to give some comments?

Congrats on your acceptance to Citrus! Why do they want you to retake the TEAS? I can imagine why you would not want to sit through it again, but since you have taken it before, it might not be as bad. 83 points is a good score for County. Last semester, the cutoff was 80 and I did not get in because I only had 77 points. I have 84 this time around and I am hoping it will be enough to get in. Congrats on the preganancy, as well! I am sure you have thought about how demanding life with a newborn, plus handling the pressures of nursing school will be. I assume you have help in place for this. As for which school to choose, is there a way to say yes to Citrus until to hear from County or is that not allowed?

Congrats! However, I suggest you take it easy on yourself and don't push yourself to taking a test that you can certainly pass on and instead wait for the letter. Take it easy. :)

Actually, I called them at the beginning of May and--unless someone has heard differently since then--they told me that May 15th was a little early. It will probably be, "closer to the beginning or middle of June," according to the woman I spoke to. For someone like me who has 81 points it's VERY nerve-wracking because that was right around the cut-off last year, I think...
