Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

What was their reason for extending it? Do you think something happened with their recognition? What would be the purpose of changing in the middle of application time? ?

So if you got accepted into the LVN program for the summer and we won’t know until June if we get in the RN program,we pretty much have to make a decision now if we continue with our stuff for the LVN course or drop it ????

Y'all, I’m SOOOOO ready for that email to hit my inbox!!! I’m attempting to wait patiently, but... I’m not doing a good job! LOL!

One thing i have heard from A very reliable sourse is that they are trying to find clinical sites for us! Since BSN program have first priority or ADN programs! But we aren’t waiting until June because that’s to close for everyone

Ok, so I got the chance to speak to Mrs. Juanita again today.. I told her about how anxious you guys are in receiving your letters. Her response was to let you guys know that all she will tell you is to just check your MyLonestar emails regularly for your letters. That is all she can really give you. She has to set a date for your orientation and right now as part of SNA we're using the lecture hall to coordinate things for the graduating class of 2019. Also, she also makes the schedules for all the other students such as the current students, the MEEP program that's coming up this summer and for the transitions, she coordinates a lot which is why it's taking a little time. It's coming!! Also, she has to receive verification from many sources before she gets the green light to send out letters such as your clinical sites. She looks worn down and I'm not even joking, give her some time it will come sooner than you think and when you least expect it. Sending her emails and calling will only slow her down in the end and make you guys more anxious.

This is actually very comforting. I feel more at ease. Communication is very important.

No problem, I understand the excitement you guys are feeling I was there. Take this time to refresh on A&P, get your blood work done, get your MMR & Varicella quantitative titers together, your TB skin test, and your CPR certification. These are things you can begin to do so when it's time to upload to Castlebranch you're all set.

Ang, we were talking about that previously and it says we have to wait to start all that

Hi guys...I have an important question. I go on a trip every year to California in November, usually leave on Wednesday morning through Sunday. Do you think this would be an issue missing those 3 days? Taking on account I’ll have 3 classes for the first 2 semesters?

You can only miss on clinical day, I’m not sure about class days but honestly missing three straight days is a lot of work missed and a lot of catching up to do

Hey I travel to CA often too. I’m originally from there. I just assumed I wouldn’t be doing any traveling while in nursing school LOL. Maybe during the summer. I would like to take a family vacation before we start. That’s what they suggest since you’re pretty much busy until after graduation.
