Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Every one freakin about the "June " acceptance needs to take a breath! Even before when it said April, the full written information says if you don't receive any notice within ONE MONTH call your top school. So that still would have been mid-may before they would be required to provide any sort of notice, or be expecting calls from students. I'm sure the dates of June on the website is just a cushion so that they don't get a million phone calls come may 12th if they haven't gotten everything straightened out. (Which clearly hasn't worked out with how many people from this forum are saying they are calling lol) just everyone try and relax. It will happen when it does. I'm sure they are doing everything in their power to get everything straightened out as quickly as possible.

Hey if you guys haven’t looked at Betterworldbooks.com you need too! I got like 4 books (Fundamentals of Nursing Made Incredibly Easy, Nursing Assessment Made Incredibly Easy, Dosage and Calculation Made Incredibly Easy, Nursing care planning) for like 12$

My job also makes the schedule like 2 months in advance. This really sucks.. I was accepted to cyfair LVN with a June start date. It was my back up if I didn't get into an RN program. I just feel bad if we're not told early enough there's gonna be a lot of wasted spots for that cohort..

I honestly think they will tell us well before June! June is just cutting it way to close for us and the nursing departments! They probably told us June just to give themselves a cushion with all the changes

I got accepted into the LVN program as well, I was just going to wait to see if I got in the RN program before finishing the paperwork, now I have to re think that.

If you do that make sure to get your fingerprints for your blue card done, that can take a few weeks to get back

Yea that was the first thing i did

While waiting to hear if we got in, what else can we do to prepare for the other requirements? Has anybody done anything on the list yet? Does anything typically take longer to do?

Does anyone know if the fingerprints you took for lvn program good for the Rn program if you get accepted

Yes i believe so, I’m an LVN and did my fingerprints in 2017. I graduated last August. I was accepted into the Lvn-Rn transition program, and was told that I need to do the fingerprinting process but I recieved my Blue card Friday for the BON and I didn’t even do anything.

Honestly i don’t think there is much we can do at this point! Everything we need it’s said to do once we receive acceptance letters

I don't think they would expect people to spend that money and if they are not accepted into the program. We are just sitting ducks for now. Well at least we have Game of Thrones to occupy us until mid May. ?
