Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Hello all. I recently got accepted to CF for spring 2020 and was just wondering for anyone who got accepted to CF for fall 2019, when did y'all have orientation? We still haven't gotten an email as to when our orientation is going to be and I called Kim Anderson last week and she said its still in the works... and its almost October. I know we still have time I am just wondering. Thanks!

As I know from my gf who just started at CyFair their orientation was in the end of August. Like 4-5 days before the classes started.

Wow that’s crazy! Okay thank you(:

Hi again everyone! I'm starting Lonestar Kingwood's ADN program in January and had a few questions.

What are things y'all have found most useful during your first semester of nursing school?

Also, is purchasing the lab bag from the bookstore worth it? what all came in it? Favorite scrub brands? Where did you purchase your books from?

Thanks for the help!

Hey everyone! Quick question, what do yall recommend when it comes to textbooks? Should we by them or just rent them?

Thanks!

I bought mine. We use them for the entire program so money wise, it's not much difference. Plus they're mine so I can mark in them as much as I want.

Good Luck! ?

Okay thank you! So do we have to buy all of them now or can we buy them when we need them?

Anyone going to Tomball that can give me some insight please???

Hello everyone.

I have been accepted into cyfairs Adn program and I will be taking Micro during the program, but I am unsure in which semester of the program I should take it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would suggest taking it your first semester. The professors say you won't really have time any other semester to take microbio since it's lec & lab. I'm finishing up the first semester at cyfair and I took microbio this semester and it wasn't that bad.

I'm taking microbio at Fairbanks T/Th 12:30-3:20, but honestly I think it depends on your prof. I have a really good prof that explains everything very well and thorough so the class isn't too difficult for me. But I know some of my classmates that are taking it as well that are not doing as good as they would like to.
