Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

So you think I should take it again i have taken it 3 times now the first 2 times I had to have a emergency surgery then the nest semester one of my family member had passes away and now taking it this time I get a B in it.

I won’t say it’s impossible to get in with a B in English, however, you would need to get an extremely high grade on the HESI (probably a 95 or above). There have been people that were accepted with a B in English but it’s quite rare. From what I’ve seen you can take a mini-mester in English and that would help a lot.

I would say yes if you really want a good chance of getting accepted. Most who do get accepted have an A on both classes and a 86 or higher on the Hesi. It is your decision and they do accept alternates but I am not sure how competitive you want to be on your application.

Yes I think I will just have to retake it again and on my hesi I dont have critical thinking, im out in dallas tx and they didnt offer me that on my HESI.

Hello! I got accepted into CyFair for spring next year and I had a 7.505 as my score. For Lonestar, they accept people based on their score sheet, which is based on your grades in English, and AP 1 or 2 and then your Hesi test. For lonestar, you will most likely have to retake the Hesi cuz they do require critical thinking in order for you to apply. I retook English 4 time and finally got an A. I retook AP 1 3 times and got a B so I retook AP 2 3 times as well and finally got an A. Don’t give up. It’s not impossible but I know people that had a 7.4 and are alternates for CyFair so it is in your best interest to get an A in both classes. I made an 87.6 on my Hesi. So yes try to make an 87 or higher but that’s with 2 As in your classes. Good luck! If you have any other questions, ask away!

If you know you probably aren't already immune, skip the initial blood work and go straight for the shots. There is a shortened version of the series offered at Express Family Clinic locations. You get the first shot on day 1, then the 2nd shot about two weeks later, then the last shot about 2 weeks after that. Then you go back in sometime after that (I can't remember the exact time, maybe another week or two) to get your blood drawn. I got my immune results back 3 days later. They are familiar with the paperwork you need for the nursing program.

I am currently in the Tomball program, just finished 1st semester. It is a great program. The instructors are great and are there for the students. I know a few people in the CyFair program and they have said they wish they would have gone somewhere else.

I had class Tues, Wed from 8-12, Thurs 12-3 and clinical on Friday. There are several diff clinical sites. The one that I had was in Tomball. As far as the schedule goes, there were 2 days for clinical, some went on Monday while others went on Friday. They do change the schedules up though so that might not be the same next time.

Can we connect through the fb/Instagram ?:) I have too many questions for you ??

Yeah, that was only nursing classes. And the clinical day is all day. Oh, my Thursday was from 12-3, that was for lab. There was also an AM lab class (I think 8-11), just the luck of the draw on which one we got.

I am on facebook. Are you on the Lonestar nursing page?
