Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Heres the group! Yes its just a blood test. This is from the Lonestar website: Quantitative (numerical value) Hepatitis B Surface Antibody Immunity (HbsAb) titer completed within the past 3 years that reflects immunity to the hepatitis B virus. This lab result must be submitted at the time of application. The HBsAb is a blood test that validates an individual is immune to the virus. LAB REPORTS SIMPLY STATING “NEGATIVE” OR “POSITIVE” ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
Make sure your doctor orders the quantitative test! They need a number instead of just saying positive or negative.

Thank you!! So if I were to not be immune to the virus, do you know if I could still apply?

If you’re not immune you have to show proof that your results came back negative as well as proof that you have had your first booster shot to make you immune. I wasn’t immune to Hep B and my physician gave me a “fast track” boost so I didn’t need the 3 boosters just one strong dose.
hope this helps!

Oh okay!! What clinic did you go to?

Sorry i’m a bit confused. So do I have to get the three Hep B vaccines before I can do the HbsAb blood screening?

Have you had any Hep B vaccines before doing the titer? If you have then go ahead and do the blood screening and if you're not immune then you have to show that you’ve had the three vaccines. If you are immune then you don’t need proof of the 3 previous vaccines.
Hello all. I recently got accepted to CF for spring 2020 and was just wondering for anyone who got accepted to CF for fall 2019, when did y'all have orientation? We still haven't gotten an email as to when our orientation is going to be and I called Kim Anderson last week and she said its still in the works... and its almost October. I know we still have time I am just wondering. Thanks!

Sorry just now seeing this so my reply is probably useless, but yes I went up to the nursing department and had them withdraw me from classes/the program. They just needed to verify my ID. I also went to financial aid and declined my awards for the 2020 school year so that I could accept awards at the other school.
