Fall 2019 Lonestar Hopefuls

Published

Hey everybody. I'm not sure if it's too early but I'm making this page for anybody who is applying to the nursing program at Lonestar College for the Fall of 2019. Looks like Montgomery, Cyfair, and North Harris have applications from Jan 7-April 12. Good luck to everyone!

Then just give it some time. Mine looks the same way and I’ve uploaded my blue card too. Did u upload both sides of the card? As that could delay things

My blue card had been uploaded since June 4 and the task says complete i think you have blue card and ss Verification confused

and the bottom on my screenshot where it says background check is what I’m referring too

No, once it’s on Castlebranch you’re good.

Okay so like at the bottom of my screenshot where it says background check and that it’s in my documents and it’ll be displayed in my to do list, all of that is good right?

Yes I’m talking about the background check that we had to do at Identogo. I just checked mine and it said completed. I uploaded mine on Tuesday. I uploaded both sides

Dropping my spot in Montgomery’s program so someone should expect a call/email soon

Hello! I’m interested in applying to this program, but I’m curious at to whether my stats would be competitive...

I have a B in all of my sciences, 3.25 GPA, and an 80 on the HESI.

The SS verification is just for your SSN to verify you are who you say you are.

IdentoGO has nothing to do with the SS Verification. IdentoGO is only for the TBON which will give you either a blue card or a letter clearing you. You upload whichever you get to the TBON card category.

The SS verification goes to CasteBranch, it's the Enrollment Verification form you filled out and sent to CastleBranch. Under the FCRA you are to be given the results, which is why you have access to see the results. It is not a criminal background check. It is an SSN verification to verify your identity. Once you have submitted the Enrollment Verification form there is nothing else you need to do for the SS verification unless asked to do so.

See the list on page 263 to see everyone's scores and their campus choices along with their status. From what we know, 7.34 was the cutoff line between acceptance and alternate.

Figuring Your Score

You will take your grade points for English and A&P and add them together and divide by 7 (credit hours for both courses). Grade points are figured by taking the credit hours multiplied by your grade value (A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, F=0). English is a 3 credit hour course so 3 (hours) x 4 (A) = 12. A&P is a 4 credit hour course so 4 (hours) x 4 (A) = 16. Assuming you made an A in English and B in A&P would be 12+12=24/7=3.4286.

You will take your HESI overall score and divide it by 25 and add it to the previous number (Ex: 80/25=3.2). You would have a total score of 6.6286.

You will most likely be rejected with that score. I'd recommend taking the HESI again to try and get at least an 85 overall and retake A&P to get an A. If you did that, you'd have 4+3.4=7.4.

UTHealth took me off their waitlist today!

I will be giving up my spot at Montgomery by this Friday, so someone will be getting a call probably next week. Congratulations to whoever on the waitlist gets the spot!!

When you gave up your position did you have to meet with an advisor? Or did you drop the classes yourself in myLonestar? I emailed someone in the nursing department and she told me I would have to go up there and meet with an advisor to do it

Are you still an alternate or did you get the call giving you a spot?

Hi everyone!

what are y’alls plans after the adn program? Once you finish are you going to go straight to work, work and do your bsn, just focus on bsn, ect.

I want to get my Rn-bsn after program finishes. I’ll try to find work too and do school part time.

I don’t have chemistry though. Most of these programs seem to require chemistry. Will I have to take it during or after nursing school or are there RN-BSN programs that don’t require it? I have every other prerequisite.

Still an alternate

the director at Montgomery (who makes all the calls) is out from the office until the 24th

Hi everybody, I have a question about our beloved castle branch lol..I could have sworn that we were supposed to have everything uploaded and complete by June 15th (Montgomery cohort), but on my castle branch profile, it states that the due date is July 15th. Anyone have any insight as to the true due date? I only have to get and upload the influenza vaccine after August 1st, and am waiting on my doctor to finish my hep C screening record. I was wondering if I heard June 15th incorrectly or if that was only for the SSN verification. Thanks in advance for any info!
