Hey everyone, just wanted to start a Fall 2018 page for Lone Star ADN/LVN future students!
Hey guys! I applied to Lone Star's 2018 Nursing ADN Program and have been put on the Alternate List. I had a 6.9 when applying but had a score change due to a professor giving me a B in A&P 1 when I should have received an A. So as of Friday, my score has changed to a 7.504. My first choice is Montgomery, then Tomball, then NH, and then Cy-Fair. Does anyone have an idea as to if I will be accepted into any school? The Dean of Health and Science and Dr. Gray said I have moved up on the list due to this change. I feel like now I should be getting a call any day now but I still am nervous.

WOW! I am so sorry that your professor did that! Did you catch it right away and have to fight for it? I can't even imagine! Especially since I finished A&P I about 1 week before the deadline!
I believe the alternate process works by giving you the next available slot at any campus you were willing to attend. So it could be any of them. I think you have an excellent opportunity though! Just a matter of which campus. If it winds up being Montgomery I'll look forward to having you in class!
Hey guys, for those who haven't done their CPR (BLS Provider) yet, you can have it done for just $30. Just go to this website E-PIC Training Center, Inc. and register. When you are ready to pay, scroll all the way to the bottom and you will see the Student Rate for $25. When you pay, there will be an additional $5.00. Her name is Tiffany Massie and she is totally cool. I got mine done today and it was approved by Castle Branch. Let me know if you have any questions. Her number is on the website also.

They change the HESI every time and from what I heard, they have a couple hundred questions and it's all randomized. The anatomy section was only 30 ?s but that is kind of hard to study for since its such a broad subject and since there are only 30 questions it doesn't give you any room to miss one. I used the HESI A2 study guide by Trivium Test Prep. I liked it because it summarized each subject of a&p with the essential info, so I just pretty much read everything. Vocab was mostly health-related words like adhere, supplement etc. Grammar was easy for me but my friend failed that section so I don't know...I would say just study affect/effect and remember neither goes with nor and either goes with or in a sentence. Reading is super easy don't even sweat it! Math is all fractions and proportions with a couple unit conversions thrown in. Just know meters to kilometers and pints to cups.
