Fall 2014 Ivy Tech Nursing

Published

Congratulations everyone! We have worked so hard and now we are waiting for the answer to our dreams. I thought I would start this thread and encourage others to participate in order to inform each other as well as future students about TEAS V scores and total overall scores. There isn't a lot of support within Ivy Tech and I want to encourage those who really strive to be a nurse to continue on your way no matter the obstacles or discouragements you may face.

I recently finished all pre-reqs with A's and my last attempt at the TEAS V was an 87.4. This gives me a total rating of 177.4/190. My first attempt at the TEAS V exam, I scored a 76.2; it was recommended that I retake it to try to achieve at least an 85 or higher. I am trying to get into the Lafayette and Lawrence ASN programs, where there are more students who apply every year. Don't let these scores scare you, i've done a lot of research and have found that TEAS V scores of 76 and higher with some straight A's and others with a B or two have been accepted into the ASN program around Indiana. However, if you can take a second attempt to get a better score, I recommend it. The ATI book was a great resource for me. Amazon sells it for fairly cheap.

Now its your turn. Where have you applied and what scores did you achieve?

Our orientation is July 14. Lickity Split, soon as I got that letter I had my background and drug screening done, I've taken my BLS class and I just received word that my titres are good so I don't need anymore shots, so my physical is complete. Nothing left to do now but shop and wait!

We have not received any info on what company to go through for the background check or drug screen. I already have my BLS thank goodness. As long as they accept my vaccination records from my employer, I should be good to go there. I can't believe June is almost over.

How did you like the ASN program at Kokomo? Thats where I applied to and I am waiting on my letter now!
