FALL 2020 INTAKE: SELKIRK COLLEGE/VIU/COTR/NORTHISLANDCOLLEGE

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hey guys!

I didn't see any forum topic for any 2020 INTAKES AT:

-Selkirk College

-VIU

-North Island College

-College of the Rockies

So I decided to open one for those that applied !

I applied to all the schools noted above. I also applied for UFV (but they won't accept my application because for some reason they can't find the email forwarded by my volunteer coordinator and my GPA is too low) .

I applied with grades:

BIO12: 83% B MATH 11: 79% B+ ENGL 12: B CHEM 11: 88% A

I also completed the KPU HEALTH FOUNDATIONS CERTIFICATE, where I took the prereqs:

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY I AND II (C+) AND English 1100 (B) .

So far, I've been accepted to Selkirk College and seat fee is due on March 27 which I will defs pay for while I wait to hear back from VIU AND NORTH ISLAND (my preff choices as closer to home)

ANYONE ELSE????

Please comment below and share your experience and acceptance or declines! ?

Does anyone know if VIU has a waitlist?

May I ask what your GPA was?

I received a rejection letter from VIU on April 15. On May 3 I received a follow up letter saying that due to the large number of students declining their offers of admission this year, they’ve created “an additional top 20 waitlist” of which I’m now a part of. This means that if space opens up they’ll offer spots to people on this list. But once the year starts, if I’m not offered a spot, I’ll have to reapply for next intake.

I only received the rejection letter from VIU AND NIC. NIC did state they might offer me if there's space available and none of the 20 students accept. LOL But I'm just gonna go ahead with Selkirk college. I just handed in my housing application !

I have also been offered admission to Camosun (UVIC), UBCO, TRU, UFV, so I’m not sure I need to also be offered at VIU...I don’t know where to go yet. I applied all over because I just wanted to get an offer somewhere, anywhere. Now I need to make some decisions. Tough! And I’m not sure what to choose?

WOW! you got into all the school I wanted to apply to ! I didn’t get to apply for camosun or UBCO cause no chem 12 for me. UFV was my top choice but they wouldn’t accept my application due to them not receiving my volunteer thing on time. TRU I didn’t bother!

good luck ! I would go for UFV!

CONGRATS on your acceptances! But UFV hasn't actually accepted any students to their BSN program yet.. the interviews are taking place on Wednesday and it's not till after that, that you'll find out if you got accepted or not!

You are correct, I haven’t received admission from UFV, I’ve only been invited for an interview this Wednesday. Given that I’ve been offered a spot at all the schools I’ve applied for, I threw that one in the list to simplify my question LOL.

Why would you choose UFV? Just curious

I’m from Vancouver, so UFV is the closest to home, that’s why I would chose it! Hehe but I heard UBCO offers a really great program in the Okanagan !

Thanks for your reply. I’m also from Vancouver! I’m really having a difficult time picking a school. You have the runs their program in Chilliwack, so I would need to move to the Fraser Valley to attend their program because I’m not going to spend three hours a day commuting. And since I would have to relocate anyways, I really want to make sure I pick the best school available to me. There does not seem to be any simple way of comparing different nursing programs. I guess it comes down to what city would I like to live in?

Hey, if you don't mind me asking, what were your grades when you applied to all of these schools?

Hey! Just wondering if you ever heard back about the VIU top 20 waitlist? Did they offer you a spot yet? I just recurved that letter now because I guess people have been declining offers. I already am fully applied at another school but if they offer me a spot last minute, I will not hesitate !

Hey, yes I was put on the additional-20 waiting list in early May. I was offered a seat in VIUs program on May 19, which I declined because I accepted an offer at UBC-Okanagan instead.
