FALL 2020 INTAKE: SELKIRK COLLEGE/VIU/COTR/NORTHISLANDCOLLEGE

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hey guys!

I didn't see any forum topic for any 2020 INTAKES AT:

-Selkirk College

-VIU

-North Island College

-College of the Rockies

So I decided to open one for those that applied !

I applied to all the schools noted above. I also applied for UFV (but they won't accept my application because for some reason they can't find the email forwarded by my volunteer coordinator and my GPA is too low) .

I applied with grades:

BIO12: 83% B MATH 11: 79% B+ ENGL 12: B CHEM 11: 88% A

I also completed the KPU HEALTH FOUNDATIONS CERTIFICATE, where I took the prereqs:

ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY I AND II (C+) AND English 1100 (B) .

So far, I've been accepted to Selkirk College and seat fee is due on March 27 which I will defs pay for while I wait to hear back from VIU AND NORTH ISLAND (my preff choices as closer to home)

ANYONE ELSE????

Please comment below and share your experience and acceptance or declines! ?

Hey! Just wondering if you ever heard back about the VIU top 20 waitlist? Did they offer you a spot yet? I just recurved that letter now because I guess people have been declining offers. I already am fully applied at another school but if they offer me a spot last minute, I will not hesitate !

I got offered a spot a while back too. I was fully applied at another school like yourself but ended up getting a refund on my tuition deposit because of COVID. You should email and ask too. Hope to see you at VIU :)

Hey, yes I was put on the additional-20 waiting list in early May. I was offered a seat in VIUs program on May 19, which I declined because I accepted an offer at UBC-Okanagan instead.

WOW!! Good luck! I wish you all the best!

Hi ! I accepted and currently am attending the 1st BSN at Selkirk college.

The program is heavy if you don't do ANATOMY/PHYSIOLOGY and ENGLISH before hand. I know some of my classmate who have to take both on top of nursing classes are struggling, but there are also others that are excelling! So I guess it depends on your studying habits!

Due to covid- there's alot of changes as per my 2nd yr friend. There isn't much clinicals at the moment, sadly. The classes are all on zoom which I find so annoying because there are more prep work to do ? and alot of self teaching.

but overall, I am thriving ! LOL

Selkirk location itself is not so pleasing! If you get to chose, I suggest chose anywhere on the island (closer to the city if u like that) but there's no big stores in Castlegar except Marks, Canadian tire, and Nofrills. Walmart is 30 mins away and if u need to buy apparel, it's online shopping.

I know COTR has more big box stores in their little city than here!

Hey, for Selkirk College what kind of things did you guys mention on your personal resumes? Im looking to apply just wanted to get some ideas on what to write ?

Hi,

I noticed you were accepted into Selkirk, I applied for the Fall 2021 Intake with grades as followed:

Pre Calc 11: 76%

Chemistry 11: 73%

Bio 12: 80%

English 12: 73%

And I finished my KPU Health Foundations Certificate

With anatomy & physiology I: A-  & A&P II: C+

And ENGL 1100: B

I also did the CASPER, and in the personal resume included some health care related volunteer experience!

Just super anxious as to whether I'll be accepted or not LOL

What were your grades like applying?

Hey guys! I applied for VIU's 2021 fall intake and I found out that I was put on the top 20 waitlist.

for those of you that were waitlisted last year, how long did it take to hear if you were offered a spot or not? I'm really hoping it is more of a couple of weeks of rate rather than months LOL

thanks!! ?

Hey! I applied to VIU as well but haven't heard anything back yet. Did you see your wait list approval online? and what were your grades like if you don't mind me asking. ?

Hey! yeah I saw it online. I went under the admissions tab and it was in the view documents section.

here's the link to the online server if you don't have it

https://isapp.viu.ca/srs/mystudentrecord.htm#mainpage

My grades aren't very fantastic... I have A's in BIO 12, CHEM 12, ENGL 12, and FOM 12 however they're all 86's so my average is 86. I think that my CASper test is what helped out my application.

I'm also a university transfer but I'm using my highschool grades

Hey guys, I got rejected from VIU end of April? but due to COVID and alot of people declined, they suddenly put me on waitlist in July then rejected me again by end of August. LOL so it can drag! I hope you both get in.
