I'm in! I signed my name on the line and am handing in my check on Monday. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!

Anyone one else going to be with me this fall at Inver Hills?

Specializes in Multiple.

4.0 with an 86%. I know another gal with same GPA and an 88% getting in.

Specializes in Allergy and Immunology.

Congratulations and good luck to you all on your journey. I'm so glad I did not have to take this TEAS test that I hear so much about. But, Inver is a very good school, and very hard to get in so you guys should be very proud!

I am also accepted at Inver Hills. Congrats to you!

I have a GPA of 3.8 and a TEAS score of 79.3

My GPA was 4.0 and a TEAS of 80.7. So thankful that it was good enough. Also proud that we made it out of 300 some applicants! To Hopeful nurse, I would recommend having the highest GPA possible to give you good jump. The TEAS wasn't as hard as people say. I reviewed for less than a week. I would recommend buying the book and online tests. Read the book to see what you need to know and study up on where you fall short. I didn't have the time to allow this for myself and was in a panic. I think if you give yourself a couple weeks you should be golden. Also practice with time. I had kids, work, and current classes to work through while studying so I didn't have time to pretend I was actually taking the exam timed. I ran out of time on the reading because it was the first section and I was nervous. I also ran out of time on the math. After getting myself stuck on a problem, I remembered that there were easier problems to come so I skipped ahead. My advice would also be to take the book tests and the online tests. I didn't have time for both so I only took my two online practice exams so I would be familiar with what to expect for the actual test. Seriously I'm so thankful because I didn't do near what I wanted. So give yourself enough time!

I'm so excited to get started and meet some new people. Does anyone want to meet up sometime for coffee or something to talk a game plan? I've found I'm driven in school when I have comrades.

AGREED! I would love to meet up. I've been so excited but it's driving me nuts to wait until July to find out what the game plan is. It would probably be helpful to be around people as excited as I am... I have the feeling I've been irritating everyone around me who could care less about nursing, lol! The classes I've had a study group for I've always done very well, so I have every intention of setting something like that up. Information seems to stick with you better when you have to explain it to someone else :)

I was the same way with the TEAS. I had 3 days to study for the test and was in a total panic! I think I would have done much better had I given myself the time to actually sit down and study for a few weeks, but at that time I was many things: a wife, a mom, a full time employee, and a full time student! So my best advice to anyone about to take the TEAS is sit down and absorb as much material as you can. The TEAS makes up the bulk of your score for consideration. Good luck to those applying for Spring 2015 start!

BeachMeyer, we seem to have tons in common. I'm nearly full time at work, tons of family obligations, and school. I unfortunately never had time for the study groups because I was cramming! I know going forward that's not the way it will be so I would love to meet some people that can help drive me. Are you currently an Inver student? Have you finished your generals? I don't know much about this site but I've seen people talking about personal messaging each other but couldn't see how that worked so I think I sent you a friend request and now maybe we can personal message and nail down some chat time.;)

Are your GPA's "based on the first semester of MANE curriculum" or is this your overall GPA? Do they really only take those first four classes into consideration for admission?

Are your GPA's "based on the first semester of MANE curriculum" or is this your overall GPA? Do they really only take those first four classes into consideration for admission?

Just the first four prerequisites and your TEAS score. I believe your overall GPA needs to be at least a 2.75.

That's what they are supposed to be looking at. That is what they have reiterated but for some reason I hear people asking and saying this as if they've got a secret. I think the application process has become much less complicated for the admission team by narrowing it down to the first four classes and the TEAS score. A simple composite score of the two seems way simpler than some of the point systems I have heard of practiced in the past.

So to answer your question, when people are posting their gpa, I've just assumed it was only the first 4 classes unless they said overall because the rest doesn't matter to anyone. Everyone is wondering to find out what is a competitive score. Good luck!

I heard that they did not take anyone that had a less than 11.6 points out of 14 for those who are interested in knowing.

kmaureen, you can e-mail me at [email protected] if you wish :)
