Published

Hi, I will be applying to hcc for fall 2020. My stats are:

overall gpa- 3.35

pre req gpa-3.5

teas- 75%

Do I have a chance of getting into the program for the fall term?

I highly recommend this place if you need to get your CPR Certification! I paid $49

It is NOT an online course!

Thanks please keep me updated. I’ll email first and then see about getting a response through a call if they don’t email back ❤️

So I went ahead and called HCC, and I was told that the only way I can get in contact with them about my question is by emailing the Health Sciences department. So I'm not sure if I should go ahead and email the health sciences admissions team or wait for a response from this one individual.

Go ahead! Nothing bad can happen if you send them an email!

CONGRATS to all the future nurses! Does anyone know the GPA cutoff by chance I’m hearing mixed answers? CONGRATS again, you all will make amazing nurses!

Thanks for keeping me updated. I just emailed the health science department after reading this. They’ve always been very nice when I emailed. I don’t think it should be a problem to ask that question. I would email too! Or you can wait and I’ll update to see how they respond if you’d like. ?

congratulations!

Make an appointment with the Health Department and get your titers done! Some of the vaccines are free if you do not have an insurance, so take advantage of that benefit. I am going through my primary doctor for the TB exam, but I know that the Health Department can give you the information about that exam, too.

So.....I called the health dept to schedule Titers. The lady I spoke to said they don't do titers, only vaccines, and quoted me almost $300 for immunizations even with no insurance. She said I'll have to go elsewhere for titers. I'm like, ma'am, I'm reading the website verbatim to you, it says you do college titers for $50 and forms for $25. She said no, that's vaccines... smh. I'm exhausted already. On the bright side, fingerprints is scheduled.

I just received an email back from the first individual I emailed and this was their response:

"The admission email of all the cohorts has been sent. The server must be very busy; we are sending hundreds of emails with several attachments. We recommend that you give some time that all the emails go out."

If you end up getting a different response, let me know!

@kargonz0508 That's strange, I called the number about 15 minutes ago and set up an appt. She said $50 for titers and $25 for the form.

Super excited for everyone that got in ? I wish you guys all the best!!

I’d love to hear from any of the fellow students that didn’t get in about your plans? I just text a few family members to tell them I didn’t get in, and the common reply was “So what now?” ? truth time: I have no damnnnn idea haha, obviously I’ll apply for Spring term but anyone here applying to other schools etc with some insight or ideas.

Did they give you an appt? I thought it was also weird because they wouldn't give me an appt, they said someone has to call me back.
