I AM APPLYING FOR THE FALL SEMESTER START FOR FCCJ 2008, THE WAIT IS KILLING ME :banghead::eek: ANYONE ELSE APPLYING THE SAME TIME?

i know what you mean! when i for a moment thought that they were offering it this fall i was just getting used to the idea of going to days and i was then confused on what choice to make because i already force myself to accept days. but it is easier to know that we dont have a choice.

anywhoo, i would probably skip it. you could have an easier semester but then again if you think that it might be a different experience then maybe you should take it again. i guess i didn't really help did i. :D

i meant to say dont, sorry i just saw that!

i knew what ya meant.....:typing happens to me all the time.......

a friend of mine just applied for the fall with 174 points, i was trying to be nice and give her hope but i really dont think that is good enough to get in this semester, she might have to wait until she gets credit for her other two classes.....bummer...i was looking forward to having a buddy to go through it all with, who knows , maybe by some freak chance she will get in with that score!!! hope so but the odds are not good......oh well!!!!! we will just have to wait and see!

I went to North Campus to turn in my application today!! YAY!:)

There were so many people there turning in applications too:devil:!

June 1st is on Sunday so today was the last day to turn in applications.....another day closer guys. I sure hope it does not take the whole 8 weeks for a letter. From reading the other posts I think I will really start checking my mailbox in 4 weeks.

Ugh I hate this waiting part:banghead:

Well I hope she gets in too!! I know it would be great to have your friends go through it with you........ If she doesn't make it then maybe some of us will end up being in the same sections and we could help each other out.

I have a friend applying with about the same amount. I think she has 176, but this is her TOTAL. She doesn't have anymore classes to take. I know she has been trying very hard. This is not her first time applying and I don't know if she could take another rejection. I hope the 168 seats makes the cutoff lower than usual (at least 170).

JUNE 1ST IS HERE!!!!

Count down begins................

okay, so does anyone have any idea how much with a rough estimate the stuff costs that you have to complete in the acceptance packet, cause i have crappy to no insurance and im trying to mentally prepare, I know the packet gives estimates for the books and stuff , but im curious about the physical, shots, titers, uniforms? also does anyone know if you can opt out of the shots? just curious??

Specializes in cardiac.

Everyone I have spoke to has said to have about $1200 saved up. Books are around $800 and fingerprinting, drug test and physical is about $300-$400 depending on who you go with for the physical/ titers. I have heard that going with whatever is in the acceptance packet is the cheapest place (if you do not have insurance).

This is all hear say and I am sure we will know more when the time comes. I just gave my stimulus check to my father-in-law to hold on until I get in, I didn't want to risk spending it since I am bored and lonely. (My hubby is on a six month deployment and I have 4 kids, lol) I am hoping that it will cover all my costs and the first few weeks of daycare until I can get a loan.

okay so my worst nightmare has come true, I got a letter in the mail today saying that my financial aid was denied, they said that i have met my 150% mark and that i havnt met satisfactory academic preformance, I have a freakin 4.0 all A"s , its just that i am taking classes for my AS and my AA, so warning to all, this can get you into trouble, technically they are saying that i should have graduated already, my application for the fall nusing program is in and Idont know now how i am going to pay for it, I have to send in an appeal, hopefully things will work out, i pray they will!!!!

Your appeal will go through they always do as long as you have an explaination, especially if your grades are good. I have a friend who is a financial aid counselor at north campus. I am just screwed because I went ahead and got my B.S. so now I cannot get a Pell Grant and the oppertunity grant goes fast, so I probably won't get money for the first term but should get some for the following.

Just send in your appeal and I am sure everything will be fine.:coollook:

oh you have given me some hope!!!! thanks!! I am going to have to fax it i guess cause I am out of town, it sucks though not knowing if it is going to go to where it needs to!!!! I hope I get a response soon because that will be whether I can accept my seat into the nursing program or not!! would your friend be able to help me out?

Her name is Lisa at the financial aid office, you can call and see if she can do anything over the phone.
