Hey Everyone!
I wanted to start a new thread for Fall 2020 applicants at El Centro, since I didn't find one already here. Let's see if we can help eachother out and answer some questions for eachother. Currently, I have 35 points, but will be applying with about 40, I believe. I'm wondering if that is competitive? Also, I need to get my physical, titers, and vaccines, but don't have health insurance. Any ideas where I can get them done at a decent price? I found a website but I am not sure if they will accept stuff from there....

Personally, I choose it Bc it’s closer for me and FREE PARKING unlike El centro. We have our own nursing building so it’s nice and calm, I like it. Everything is close together pretty much. My instructors were good here so far.

That's good to hear. I didn't really go on NL's campus very much (pre-coronavirus) so I never went in the nursing building but yeah I've been debating between Brookhaven (faster time) and North Lake (convenience). So I'm waiting for my letter for North Lake to see how I feel about it.

The exit HESI is comprised of everything you learned that particular semester including math. It’s 85 questions 10 are pilot, meaning only 75 count. This resembles the NCLEX. The math is pharm math (dosage calculations). Must know conversions and how to set up problems. You will get a book in your package to help with math and your skills teacher will help. I will warn all of you now the book package is about 3k to be paid in full all first semester. No you cannot do payment plans. If you qualify and use financial aid make sure it is set up ahead of time to help pay for it. Let me know if any other questions arise! Good luck to all of you! I’m excited to see you guys around next semester.
Id like to add you said “HESI math” your math competency exams are separate and don’t count towards anything in your grades. You just need that 100% to progress. In first semester you take it in the middle of the semester and they’ll help prepare. By 2nd-4th all of your math exams are on the very first day you come back.

Yes, that is what I have been told by admissions at El Centro. Best of luck! I hope we all get in!

All of that information will be given in your acceptance letter. You will have orientation and on that first orientation you will get to “pick your clinical site”. Not really, it’s first come first serve by lottery pick.
