Fall 2020 El Centro Nursing Program Applicants

Published

Hey Everyone!

I wanted to start a new thread for Fall 2020 applicants at El Centro, since I didn't find one already here. Let's see if we can help eachother out and answer some questions for eachother. Currently, I have 35 points, but will be applying with about 40, I believe. I'm wondering if that is competitive? Also, I need to get my physical, titers, and vaccines, but don't have health insurance. Any ideas where I can get them done at a decent price? I found a website but I am not sure if they will accept stuff from there....

Hello!

I think it is going to be competitive.. but I think 40 will be okay? I am planning on applying to El Centro, Mountain View, and Brookhaven for Fall 2020. But I'm not sure if I am eligible to apply to El Centro. I have an overall score of 38 but I don't know if I could apply because my hesi score was 96 on math, 96 on reading, 92 on grammar, 86 on A&P, but vocab was 76... But I don't want to retake hesi because I'm scared my scores are going to drop. Any suggestions or ideas?

Dbskyo96,

I would say study some more and retake it. You did very well on most of it. And retaking it might really boost your score!

You have to have an 80 on ALL portions unfortunately :( So since you did well on all the other portions, just study the vocab and brush up on the other areas then retake it. You weren't far from an 80. Go to the Online HESI A2 study group on FB. It's very informative and i promise it will help you!

Hello everyone! I'll be applying for Fall 2020 for El Centro and Brookhaven. So far, I'll have either 36 or 37 points once everything is turned in. How's everybody doing with getting their items uploaded to castlebranch?

I am going to apply Fall 2020.

That say I hvae to retake some courses.

Does anybody know where can I study for Microbiology class?

It was my big obstacles.

I would say try and get a good teacher who can help you when you have problems. I didn't do so bad with Micro but I had a good teacher as well. I'm not a big science fan so that's where my help end unfortunately. Hopefully, some one else bring their insight on here and kind of give you some resources on how to better pass the class.

I am in DCCCD that was main part of studying well.

I am thankful

Besides micro...are there other classes you haven't done yet? Will you be able to apply by the deadline in February?

I have to retake a AP 2 and General 2301.

Suggestions in my case

Alegre, Serra or Aboloye are great for AP 2 but their classes do fill up extremely fast! Stephen Link is good from Brookhaven. Very good professors!

I ll apply for spring 2020.

It's more straight than my plan.

I try to get done early, it was nt good now

I am very thankfful

I have submitted a few things to Castlebranch, but not everything.

I have yet to take micro, so I have no advice.

Do we need to make an appointment to have our transcripts evaluated if we have done all coursework at DCCCD?

Did anyone else take HPRS classes and now El Centro is saying they dont accept them, even though the JUST changed HPRS to RNSG? (Pharmacology and Pathophysiology)
