Fall '16 Chabot, CSUEB, Ohlone, Merritt, and CCSF!

Published

Well, here it is...

After two and a half years of prerequisites I finally sent out all my application packets and am now anxiously awaiting the responses from not one, not two, but five schools where I have applied!

Nobody in my "civilian" life believes me when I tell them how hard it is to get into nursing school, especially in the Bay Area, so I came here to commiserate and get emotional support... lol

I applied to Chabot, CSUEB, Ohlone, Merritt College, and City College of San Francisco.

If anyone has applied to either of these, please share your experience and hang around this thread until May when we get our answers!

Good luck everyone!

I'm assuming CSM= College of San Mateo?

Did they have the same pre-reqs as the other schools?

Good luck to you as well!

Yes, same pre-reqs and merit based.

I applied to CSU East Bay and SFSU. Well, it seems pretty clear with SFSU that I am out as I didn't get any interview invitation from them. But I still hope to get to CSU East Bay, altough my TEAS score is not as strong as many people post around here .

This all is so nerve wrecking...

I'm a second degree student.

I've applied to Chabot, Ohlone, Merritt, Los Medanos, Drexel (ABSN), Holy Family University (ABSN), St. Francis School of Nursing, and another school in Ohio that was ABSN. I forgot the name lol.

Prayers for everyone.

Whatever is in your destiny will happen.

God bless!

I just got my acceptance letter from CCSF today. :woot: This is my 3rd time applying to CCSF. It's also my first choice because I live 10 min away and I have kids.

Congratulations! That's awesome!

Congratulations Julia! That's awesome!

Just being nosy... Why did you have to apply three times?

Was it just luck of the lottery, or did you improve grades etc?

From one Mom to another, it's double awesome that you got into a program so close to home!

Thank you! CCSF is by lottery. I started applying for nursing school last year (CCSF, USF, and Chabot). I actually got accepted to USF last year and declined my spot (the cost to attend there started to sink in to me.) For Chabot, I was #32 on the waiting list and they accepted 30 people from the waiting list. I was so close!

Dreaming_girl, my friend had an average gpa and scored 62 her first try then 75 on her 2nd teas test. She was #30 in the waiting list and got in last fall at CSUEB Concord. So don't give up hope! Have you tried applying to community college nursing programs?

Congrats Julia!!! So happy to hear that you got accepted!! I always get good vibes when people are pursuing their dreams! Keep up the motivation and hard work during school too. I also have two kids and a wife and I'm the breadwinner of the family. Hope I can finish nursing school while fulfilling my responsibilities!!!

I got my letter from CCSF yesterday...

No luck with the lottery...

I have four more schools to hear back from so, finger crossed...

Good luck everybody!

I received a letter from Merritt asking to send a copy of my teas result yesterday. I am going to withdraw from the next phase because I'm pretty much set on CCSF. But wishing you all the best! I'll keep you all updated if I hear back from Chabot, Ohlone, and CSUEB.
