Fall 2019 Austin Community College ADN applicants (ACC)

Published

Hi ACC prospects! I figured I would start a thread for all of us applying to the ACC adn Fall 2019 semester. I am taking my HESI tomorrow morning. Anyone else out there?

Congratulations to those of you who got accepted!! Can y’all post your stats as well to help those of us who are applying in the future please?!

Eeek! I got in too! I picked RRC, EVC, then CEC.

Does anyone know when we start clinicals? Is it within the 1st semester?

Anyone planning on working while in the program?

EVC, CEC, RRC for me. I think there are clinicals first semester but I'm not positive. I'm hoping to get a very part time job (a day or two a week) in a hospital while in the program.

Do you have a CNA license? I would like to get a part time job in a hospital as well but I have no medical experience yet so I'm not sure what I can apply for.

My Nursing Skills I profs said that we could use that on our resumes and that most hospitals in the area will take an ACC NSI in place of a CNA license. Something about being able to challenge the CNA license but I'm going to be honest I was thinking about an exam and wasn't listening super carefully about the CNA info. And a lot of the Patient Care Tech positions at the hospitals don't require a CNA.

Congrats!!

I picked EVC, CEC, RR. I’ll be working as much as I can during the program. The NS profs did say we would be able to work in the hospital after finishing NS, as did my advisor.

My pre req GPA is 4.0

My GPA including my co req’s is 3.8

I haven’t taken Ethics yet though I registered to take it over summer.

My HESI AP score was 84

Math was 90

Reading was 94

That was my first time taking the HESI

My rank is 36.14

This was my first time applying

I also graduated from ACC with their pre-health associates degree I don’t know if they looked at that or not though.

Good luck to you!❤️

The co-reqs help. My GPA is 3.5, I got 7 points on the Hesi since I didn’t find the calculator until I was almost done with the math session (did all calculations on tiny sheets of paper). Look for the calculator! ? however, my rank is 37.79 because of co-reqs.

@JanDoATX

my pre req GPA was 3.734

I had all co-reqs besides Nursing Skills

I got a 92 on HESI so I got the full 10 points.

Total GPA was 3.708

Final rank score was 41.96

@JanDoATX

1st time applying

Prereq GPA 4.0

Coreq GPA 4.0, ethics and nursing skills 1 not completed at time of application

HESI I got a mid to high 90 on everything.

40 points
