First try stops 143 then the second time stops 75 after I study for 5 months.I Feel so devastated:blackeye: and not motivated to study again.
I used Kaplan on demand,Saunders 5th edition (read cover to cover ) and PDA.I answered lots of questions ,lots of prayers too!
I need to be motivated, but i dont know how it will gonna start again.Im asking myself what else Im going to do to pass this exam.Im a single mommy of 4 kids.:bookworm:working and taking care of my 3 years old baby girl. Please HELP !!! any suggestions for me to make it to be RN....THANKS so much for reading this post!

Sorry to hear this. {{{hugs}}} Take some days off and when you're ready, conduct a self-assessment and determine whether content or test-taking strategies (or both) are whats needed for you to pass this exam. You mentioned you answered a LOT of practice questions. Review those you got wrong and determine why you chose the wrong answer.
Also, gnjoy posted what's called "SAARE Method" https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/any-june-nclex-569537-page5.html. This has helped me with my studies as I will be taking NCLEX RN in a few weeks.
Stable versus Unstable
Acute versus Chronic
ABCs
Real versus Potential
Expected vs Unexpected....
during my exam..when nclex asked me to pick the least stable patient...i analyzed each of this patients next to the SAARE method...
and said
Is this patient
Stable versus Unstable (u would of course pick the unstable patient based on the choices given)
Acute versus Chronic (does the patient have an acute condition or chronic...chronic can wait..acute is NOW)
ABCs (ABCs is priority....no need to explain this one)
Real versus Potential (is patient having a real problem now or potential problem...fixed the REAL problem NOW)
Expected vs Unexpected.... (does the patient nclex gave u have an expected or unexpected outcome...for least stable patient..u will pick the unexpected action)
Don't give up. Your biggest hurdle is behind you. Good luck!!!
Thanks for the reading and I will follow your suggestions. I'm hoping and praying next time I'm gonna make it for my kids future!?

I can only imagine what you are going through and feeling. Definitely take some time off from knowing anything about this test, rest and do things that make you happy. You probably won't be up going out a lot or being around people (just a guess) ,but I encourage you to surround yourself with friends and family. When are you finally ready to go for it again, remember why you are doing this, if you want it so bad you will get it. Change some things in your studying. When you think you learned something, teach it to yourself out loud or write down everything associated with it. e.g. Fluid Volume Excess- too much volume= to much pressure. BP goes up, so you are also thinking Heart Failure, just can't pump out the blood anymore, could back up and cause pulmonary problems, etc. Just to make sure you get it.
Remember dont' focus too much on minor details, focus on the safety of the questions, focus on what's going to kill your patient and what's going to save your patient from dying. The exam tests you with only 2 weeks of nursing experience. I'll pray for you, you just got to believe and keep trying. Wishing you success next time around.
Thanks for your response scrubsnkicks.I will try to do it.I might be starting to study again this Saturday, and instead of doing it night time I will try to study in the library 1:00-6:00 pm and I will start by the things that I didn't study last time.because I feel so overwhelmed by the study materials that I've been used but will try to brush it up again when I feel I'm ready to look it back!

Sorry what you had to go through. But know that you're not alone.
I am taking my NCLEX for the 4th time the end of Dec 2012. JUST scheduled it. This test is a safety test, my weakness is I tend to overthink it.
I am meeting with my professor and she is currently coaching. Right now I am doing NCSBN, since they are the ones who wrote the test. I dont think being an international student will effect it, if anything international students are smarter. lol. My colleague who is ESL passed on her first try, I as tutoring her during nursing school, and she passed. I havent passed and was born and raised her in CA. So its really how you tackle down the question.
Please lmk if you do find other resources. Download this and listen to it in your car while going to work, or just studying and taking notes. I find it helpful, and listen to it over and over until you really know the tricks.

The content is old, like 2002, but content hasnt change much. They have good review tips/study tips. Like if you have diarrhea, it's coming out of your A$$, so that'll make you metabolic aSSidotic. lol. Get it? Good luck! keep in touch. :)
Thanks lizzyxpooh! Yeah I will do your suggestions too. I have Mary Ann hogan comprehensive nclex rn, Kaplan strategies practice and exam 2012-2013 , PDA ,Saunders 5th edition. to finish Mary Ann hogan book is my plan this month. Hoping to pass now after studying all of my resources and feels ready for the battle!
Not sure if you're aware, the MaryAnn Hogan book gives you online access for a full year from the time you sign up. You can take a pre-diagnostic test and depending on your score, it provides you with a study schedule. At the end of each system/section, there's LOTS of questions as well.

I totally agree with Begosh. The NCLEX is not content only, but test strategy. ABC's, stable vs unstable, real vs. unreal etc..
Kaplan was a huge help imo. I did the live classroom version and online. I felt this was similiar to the NCLEX.
Good luck 2 u - u can do it!

Thanks caffeinaddict , today is my first day to study again... Was not studying since I failed last November 7. I don't want to feel exhausted and burnout before I take it again. I started to read and understand using Maryann hogan comprehensive book . Doing day time review for now, coz I was doing it night before and just only 5-6 hours because my brain will not gonna function if I torture for longer than 5 hours studying.im doing it very slow and understand very well each content .im praying to make it for now... God will help !
