Failed and Passes at 265 - with Kaplan Scores

Nursing Students NCLEX

Looking to help at least 1 person with this thread.

I graduated in May 2014, took about 10 months off to focus on my other career. Studied and failed in March 2015 and recently passed the NCLEX this past week. I failed the test my 1st time because I had a lack of respect and focus for the NCLEX so I won't be stating what resources I used during that time.

For my 2nd attempt I bought the Kaplan Qbank only which was where the majority of my studying came from. I also used LaCharity's PDA cover to cover and Saunder's 5th Edition as a reference if I really didn't understand something. I found the Qtrainers online.

My Kaplan scores are as follows:

Trainer 1: 57

Trainer 2: 70

Trainer 3: 58

Trainer 4: 56

Trainer 5: 55

Trainer 6: 62

Trainer 7: 62

Sample Test 1: 30

Sample Test 2: 80

Sample Test 3: 46

Sample Test 4: 48

Qbank Used: 100%

Qbank Average: 58%

I took Qtrainers 1-5 about a month before I took Qtrainers 6 and 7. I also wrote down the rationales from the Qbank questions I took the same day I took them. I took 75 questions a day, that was enough work for me to manage the rationales and go over them. I also studied from the 35 page study guide about a week or 2 before the test and looked at the Exam Cram Cheat Sheet a couple days before my test.

The biggest thing for me I believe was the environment. I made a mock test center in my home and "signed in" and out of it. Didn't keep water, food or anything at my desk. I'm also big on praying, even just talking to God.

I really want to help out however needs it so feel free to send a private message if you need any more details. You can pass at 265! Keep moving forward!
