Failed a 2nd Time - Down in the DUMPS

I just found out the result of my second test and it was the same result as the first. I felt that the 1st time I took it (265 Q's) I wasnt as prepared as I could have been. But this time I took it (115 Q's) I felt more prepared and I even studied with the Kaplan online course and I still didn't make it.

Now Im dreading going into work in 2 days because I have to tell everyone how I did...my managers, co-workers, and my preceptor. This whole weekend I havent had the motivation to do anything productive, it's hard for me to get my mind off this test. Very discouraging time for me to say the least.

Any advice or words of encouragement?

I'm not really sure I know where to go from here....I guess that there is always more Kaplan stuff I can review and also practice more of their questions....

I was thinking about trying Suzanne's plan but I dont know if I would have the time for it although I would like to (I saw on another forum that she doesnt recommend doing her plan if u work full time).

So sorry to hear what's happening. Sounds so tough. Just like you picked yourself up the first time, I'm sure you will muster up the strength to give it ago again. You can do it. Take the time you need to regroup and vent. The NCLEX is hard stuff. Good luck to you.

I am sorry that you feel that you failed when really you are already a success. Their r thousands of people who did not pass the first, second and even the third time but what made them successful was when they did decided not to allow a test control their destiny. If the Wright brothers refused to be defeated by the many attempts to make an airplane fly, then why should you, for in the many attempts later in life they tried later became reality. Success is not always the first time but can also be after many failures and those people who continue to try are some of the ones who make nursing very rewarding to those in need as well as those on the outside looking in. Don't let that passion to be a nurse die due to not having the energy and the guts to push pass the disappointment , you were smart enough to go through the nursing program and you are smart enough to pass and reach your destiny:bow:

ok, being down in the dumps is perfectly normal. just a heads up: your manager probably knows already. with all the online verifications they can find out pretty quick. so dont sweat that. you are not the first person who didn't pass the after the second try.

now, i have a friend who took their nclex many times. she just could not pass that thing but she never gave up. i really had to admire her for how she kept at it. it took her two years after we graduated to finally pass and get her rn.

so you see. it can be done. find a teacher you trust or the director of your nursing program and ask if they can help you somehow. keep your chin up. you can do it!!

When I walked out of testing I was not depressed because I thought I failed but because there seemed to be no connection between NCLEX, the two review courses I took and the study material.

I to failed and know how you feel. Don't blame yourself and don't give up.

So sorry to hear this

Hey just stay encouraged and whatever you do don't give up. Make sure you continue to pray. Just keep in mind that delay doesn't mean denial. So pick yourself back up and try again:-)

Hi there

You will pass this exam. Take a break and rejuvenate yourself before you jump back into NCLEX preparation.

:tbsk:

I have failed the NCLEX as well. I too used Kaplan to prepare myself. I am going to put Kaplan on the shelf this time. I needed to evaluate my study technique and I am not sure Kaplan was the best choice for me. I felt the need to try something different and so I am giving Suzanne's Plan all my attention for my third go around.

i know how you feel. Keep your chin up and try and remember that nothing is impossible.
