I've been checking this site for 6 mons and decided to register today to share my experience. I failed nclex the second time, just found out the result today. I studied the feuer cd's and did kaplan q-trainers and q-bank religiously. my q-trainer averaging 50-60 and q-bank 65. When i took the test feb. 23, 2009 i feel confident (or maybe i'm denial) on Some of my answer on prioritation, satas, further teaching, except for drugs w/c i'm not sure if i got right(i remember 2 lipid lowering drugs coz ends w/ -statins, also 3 psych drugs, and alot weird drugs never heard of. Got 8 satas and 3 drop down, shut me off 120. I got mixed feeling of emotions i dont understand (am I gonna cry or not). I can still remember the last question I have about shingellosis which about priorization, and my answer is something about isolation or to report the early symptoms (i dont think its a high level question), that make me sad. .I know based on my kaplan test, i can get 10 questions right at the same time and I can get 10 wrong question in a row when i start panicking..
I've been crying the whole day. :cry:but my heart really broke when my husband called me names (*****, ********). He said i never learned from my mistakes from the first time i took the exam. I'ts hard to explain to somebody who doesnt understand how nclex work. I'm a graduate from a foreign country, he keep on saying my english is bad thats why i cant comprehend/understand the questions. (Is my english really bad? guys do you understand what i wrote?? do i make sense?) I feel bad..I feel i lost all my confidence! Low self esteem..just need someone to talk to..
Don't loose hope. I know you can do it, just try it again. One of my classmate pass the nclex-pn on his 10th time. If he give up, he wouldn't be a nurse now. He just try,try, until he got it.
hey! Don't listen to your husband!:)) I am really sorry that the closest person in your life is not supporting you...thats very sad...Tell him if he thinks that it is "easy" than he should try to pass some exam in different language than his let's say in german or russian!
I am foreign nurse too, didnt make first time, soon will be second time...we will see. Did you read all posts here? There are girls who didnt pass 3, 4 or more times and still fight some of them finally made it. Whoever know nclex know that it is hard.
Sorry to hear about your husband not supporting you and the nclex. You made it through nursing school and it may take a little more money and time to pass the nclex but you will do it. I also wish Suzanne Plan was available. I understand the plan was her own and she needed time off, but knowing it helped so many I wish she had let someone else use it to help others since so many saw her as that last hope. Maybe she is going to publish it and we could pay sounds like alot would. Pray for your husband he has no idea how hard the nclex is. Good Luck and you do have friends who care. I have been told you need to get an 75-80 % on the questions to know you are ready. I will be taking it the 3 time in April and i guess I'll try Saunders cause I don't like Kaplan. GOOD LUCK!!!!

everyone is telling you to leave your husband but you probably love him very much and just wish he understood. he certainly needs to be more respectful of your feelings but he probably is worried about money and the time it took you to complete nursing school. tell him to cool down, its not over yet you just haven't finished yet! you'll make it and may your life be peaceful while you try. you are not a failure, you have just stumbuled.
Just keep praying to God. I think it is part of our trials. There is always a solution in every problems we are going to encounter in our lives. Trials are there inorder for us to be brave and strong and be able to know the real meaning of life.
I am also scared coz my husband paid everything, bought me a Mcbook, enrolled in a Kaplan which he paid $668 and I didnt PASS. He told me that everything happen for a reason. He was not mad coz he knows I really tried my best for this examination.
He was just joking with me before I received my result, that if I fail am still in his heart and he still loves but If I PASS he loves me thisssssssss MUCHHHHH...hehehehhe
Just keep praying to God that everything will be OK.
I will start studying next week. So, hopefully it would be the right time for me and to all of us.
there is this book called kaplan NCLEX RN totally different from the course. It teaches u how to answer the questions using critical thinking. i wouldnt have passed if it werent for that book. u can get it at barnes and noble for about 40.00 well worth it
