Failed NCLEX 3 times...HELP

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey everyone,

If you are reading this you most likely read the title. Yes, I have failed my NCLEX 3 times and have gotten 265 questions EVERYTIME. At the moment I am feeling so discouraged and horrible. I just took my last one a week ago (1/29). I have tried ATI, Hurst, Kaplan. I have gotten near passing on all topics each time. I am just seeking some advice if anyone has been through or going through anything similar. I don’t know what to do or how to proceed but I know I don’t want to quit. Dows anyone have any advice? Know of any online tutors or programs that could be helpful?

Thank you in advance.

I would try uworld! I did Kaplan for a few weeks learned the strategies and then uworld for questions. I also study this 35 page review I found on here. For the questions I got wrong I wrote index cards on it or on a sheet of paper I wrote down what I didn’t know. I reviewed this in the am and pm every day or so! Don’t give up! I prayed and tried to keep my anxiety down because I’ve read that’s why a lot of people fail! Also I also reviewed the hurst student manual to get brushed up on content.

Thank you!!! Also what review is that? Can you direct me to the post where you found it?

I’m not sure but I can email it to you!

Have you listened to Mark Klimek? That along with UWorld works great for most people. If you want to message me your email, I can send some info to you.

Hi Dkray,

First, let me say that you are NOT alone! I've helped over a hundred students and clients pass the NCLEX - some who have had up to 14 unsuccessful attempts! It's important to remember that the NCLEX is not a measure of your future success as a nurse, nor does it measure your intelligence or skill set.

The NCLEX is designed to challenge your ability to critically think, and decipher the information thrown at you in a stressful setting - similar to what nurses face on the job every single day. Since the NCLEX is comprised of integrated questions that pull in several concepts per high-level question, it is easy for test-takers to choose the "distracting" answer choice rather than the correct answer choice.

ATI, Kaplan and Hurst are all great resources for content review. I think what you may need is test-taking strategy tutoring.

If you'd like more information, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Remember this - if you can graduate nursing school, then you can pass the NCLEX!

Best,

Damion

Sometimes one-to-one tutoring with an Expert is much better than wasting time on a bunch of NCLEX resources. If you don't know how to study, what to study, or have an individualized tutoring plan, it can be more difficult than need be.

I have the same experience though. Tried my nclex 3 rd time last friday and today I found out that I failed again. All three times with 265 questions. I studied Saunders, U world and Hurst...Feeling horrible now and fully depressed.

For anyone who failes, there study guide on ETSY. Check it out, if it is to expensive consider save up some money and get uworld along with Mark Klemenk audio

I have seen at least 2 questions on my exam which was explained my Mark (I know 1 question made differents because it was last on my exam shot off at 75)

You are not alone! I have been there many times before and have tried all the review courses.

What worked for me was Uworld because I could read the rationale of all my choices, even the ones I got correct.

Don't give up! Take some time to re-group and try again. You can do it!
