I read somewhere somenone took the nclex 7 times until they passed. Its all about determination. Where there's a will, there's a way. Good luck to you.

You definitely are not alone. It feels like it but its just not true. I am one who failed NCLEX too. I am using Suzannes plan now and everyday I feel more and more confident. There are times when I feel like "what am I doing" but I have to re-direct myself and focus on these questions. I will definitely pray for you as soon as I finish typing this message because it is a hurting feeling to come all this way and not succeed at this test BUT I have seen folks take it 5 times and pass. Have you considered using Saunders yet?

There's me and other people that are in your situation too. I cried for days trust me and sometimes I still do. Especially if I have to re-read a chapter (lol). Then I think about how happy I will be when I pass and I focus just a little more. It helps. Were here for you.

You know, the day before founding out I passed, I really thought that I had failed. I even prepared myself for my next 2-3 months of studying. I had already prepared a different approach to studying and set up a calendar for the next exam if I had, in fact, did not pass. I prayed each day and slept with my bible close to me.

I guess my point is, no matter what the outcome is, always be prepared and keep moving forward.

:o SOORY ABOUT YOU NOT PASSING THE NCLEX, BUT IF YOU REALLY HAVE THAT WANTING TO BE A NURSE, YOU SHOULD CONTINUE AND STUDY AND NAIL THAT TEST!!

Can we please ask as per Terms of service that you do not type completely in capitals as it is classed as shouting but also hard to read. Thank you

Maltese2000,

I am with you, I just took my NCLEX yesterday and I failed. I had a job waiting for me and now that I failed I have to wait 45 days to retest and I lost my job position, on top of that I am the first one in my group to fail and my co-workers who were studying like me also passed. So I feel so horrible, all I have done today is cry, but after reading what these great people have written I dont feel as horrible, I sill feel bad of course, but I am better. Listen we can do this, if you went to nursing school and took the test three times you must really want to be a nurse. I really want to be a nurse and we will do this. ::nurse::

I failed the nclex 3 times as well. I took two different reviews: Kaplan, and HURST, of which assured 95% pass rate, and i went to a nursing school that assure 98% students pass, so you could understand how stupid I feel...but I'm still gonna take it again. I think the most important thing is support. You need support to continue studying for this again. I've thought about switching to another profession but the health field is difficult in general. My friend took the pharm test 7 times before she passed and they can only take it every 6months. It may suck now but it will be rewarding when you finally get it!!!

I think that once your have admitted to yourself that you have failed and think about what you did wrong, you should definitely study a different way. I know for a fact that I am stubborn, and I refuse to think any other way, and this is not a normal standardized test. It is so difficult that no one can ever explain how the test is graded and how people pass. I read on the NCSBN that their pass rate was declining cuz they up'd the standards.

I agree that its the way you think about it, critical thinking.

Please whatever you do, do not quit! Just think that you have made it this far; you've gone through pre reqs, how many years of nursing school, as well as all the studying you have put in. With all the support you have here, I;m sure you will overcome this test.

Like everyone else has said, do not beat yourself up over failing the test. The test doesn't measure ability to care for patients at the bedside.

To all the people who are working to triumph over this test (and I am one), You can do it!

dont give up..to me a foreign nurse that exam was a nightmare even I took it only first time and failed...Now everyday I study hard, from Saunders book, took Kaplan course, expensive but helped a little.

I was surprised how much they require from american nurses...In Europe it is different and in my country nurse does everything physically (we dont have LPN, CNA, etc) but there is knowledge booked only for physicians...of course I have to know a lot but here I found that a nurse has to know everything! It is insane. They want nurses they should make it little bit easier..

So, just study even more! You will be even better nurse, because you will know how hard you were working and how how much you should appreciate it. Just dont give up, we are all in this same boat..

I will kepp you in my heart!

good luck!

It is very hard not to want to give up. i am in the same boat. failed 4 times. i am going to try suzannes plan this time. I have high hopes that i can and will do this. I need to for my family

I know how you feel. I just found out last week that I didn't pass again and it was my 3rd time taking it too!! It is the most frustrating thing ever. And like you I have really thought about changing my career and doing something else. But then I think to myself and I know that I want to be a nurse and nothing else. I spent 5 years in school preparing to be a nurse and I am not going to let some stupid board exam get me down. Its a hard test and many people struggle with it. But we have to hang in there and not give up!! We can do it and when we DO pass we are going to be excellent RNs and we will never take for granted what we have worked so hard for!! Please don't give up!! Just have faith and stay strong!! If you need to talk let me know!!!

When you go to nclex forum there are sticky's and one says New revised first tip of suzanne plan.

Hello Matilda, i just got registered to allnurses.com. I failed the nclex twice and both times I went up to 265 questions. I am sad and puzzled and I don't know what to do. I have taken Kaplan and done well on the Q-banks and I got a 66% on Question trainer 7. I also have done the ncsbn website learning ext. online too. I have heard several people mention that Suzanne plan works. I dont know where to find this. Is it a book, or is it online? Can I get a website or a phone number? I would appreciate it if you or anyone can give me more info on how to get Suzannes plan. Thanks!
