I failed nclex what i am using prioritizing, delegation, and assignment by 3 authors one of the last names are bartz. is this a good book.
the Bratz book I thought was a good book to use, but not as your main source of studying. It focuses on exactly what the title says, prioritization, delegation and assisgnment. I used Kaplen along with it. My classmates also found Saunders to be really good as well.
I took the Nclex yesterday. I am anxiously waiting for my results, hopefully tomorrow morning, I will find out.

Both are good books, however, Kaplan spends more time on teaching you how to take the test, including multiple methods.
After taking the nclex, I truly believe you can study as much information you want, it won't help. as long you know the basics of nursing, safety, infection control, med admin. etc. it's all about taking your time and figuring out what the hidden question is. (of course this is just my take on it :nuke:)

I tend to agree. Some of the best nurses out there (foreign and seasoned) nurses would not pass today's NCLEX because of how the test questions are constructed.
I'm not going to say that you shouldn't focus on content, because that comes in handy especially for the SATA questions. But I think stratedy and the basics listed above is just as important, if not more.
cmh, when you say med admin, are there certain type of drugs you're talking about. can you talk about that a little more. and about that priority book, did it help you alot on your priority and delegation questions.
The priority book and Kaplan, help you to focus on the steps of delegating & prioritizing, or answering the FIRST or MOST IMPORTANT questions by using Maslow and the ABC's. Physiological matters- resp, bleeding, nutrition, the things needed to live come first. after that it is pain, emotions etc. if there is a physiological need presented in an answer then any answer concerning pain, emotions would be thrown out....
as far as meds go, the only advice i have to offer is to become familar with the most common ones, such as avodart, cardizem or the ones with the narrow therapeutic range, such as digoxin. It is difficult to know each and every drug out there. i had a few I didn't know and some I did.
I had a handful of meds, focusing on side effects, s/s of toxicity and location of injections.
Hope this helps

I just took my NCLEX on Thursday and failed. I had all 265 questions and most were about prioritzing. Does anyone know where to find the best resources? I have a limit on money so what ever is free or low price would be a great help. I have looked online and found practice questions. Anything would help.
Thank you
http://www.caring4u.com has lots of information, questions.
i bought some of my books from barnes and noble, used. check out ebay or amazon.com.
or if it is an option, borrow what you can from friends, instructors or the library
I too think it's almost impossible to study for nclex - I just took it yesterday so don't know if I passed or not, but it shut off for me at 75 and I don't feel it asked me much more than infection control. It just seemed to ask about standard precautions over and over again, and finally I was thinking, Oh, c***, I must not be answering it right and it's going to fail me based on precautions! I only had 4 med questions, 3 math, and nothing really advanced - so I'll be very surprised if I pass.
It's like, it finds the one area you are weakest in and just drills and drills it. I didn't even look up precautions too much in studying, just figured I knew it 'enough', but the questions were so weird.
