I have taken the nclex exam three times I have used Kaplan, hurst, Pearson vue content review, exam cram, priority questions , and mosby flash cards!!! I'm at a loss for what direction to take. I have researched for reviews and found sally lagerquist review online and a teacher of mine recommended Davis's nclex success 2E. If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate any advise. I would study 6 to 8 hours a day and before each time I took nclex I did approximately 3000?s so I've definitely put in the effort. Thank you for your time

the study guides i used were saunders questions, kaplan strategies, i felt that Lacharity's book for priorities and delegation was a big help. practice questions are the key and knowing lab values! with meds just know the major side effects and teachings for each kind (like take with food, etc.) took me two times but the second time i passed with 75 questions. it's all about the priority questions though. good luck! you can do this!
Thank you for your input I keep hearing about Saunders but my instructors said the questions are to easy and I've tried using kaplan strategies but it didn't seem to help unless it was priority ?s but I'm going to barnes and noble today so I will check out Saunders and I did use the priority and delegation book And did all the ?s I dont know what I'm missing I think you are right though do as many ?s as possible I also have nclex 3500 so maybe I should try using that as well for questions thank u again

Hey are you interested in study online? I think it will benefit us. I also failed 3x too...I took Kaplan and now Im doing hurstreview.
im interested in studying online I have used kaplan and hurst currently im enrolled in sally lagerquist online review and I purshased davis rn sucess and davis q & a my teachers recommended these books because they said the questions are more difficult than most books out there on the market. Also both are formulated to the new 2010 test plan so there are a lot of sata, order response and so on... thank you for your reply. Im glad people are reaching out who have not passed it can be frustrating when you put in the time and effort and pay for popular reviews but still cant seem to pass. please tell me more about your experiences

Well, Im glad that you are interested in preparing for the NCLEX RN with me, thanks. I just studied from the Suander book the first time and then I have enrolled the Kaplan class but all of that did not work for me somehow. I cried and stressed out a lot because I didn't know how and where I could start it again.....I was lost and I just wanted to quit and not take the test then one of my friends told me about the hurstreview and now Im enrolling in the online hurst review.....Im glad that you are interested to studying online with me because I need to have someone to dicuss the MS topics and it is so perfect that you are currently taking hurstreview too. When do you want to start it? I would like to start this week but it is up to you.
No I'm not enrolled in hurst review I'm enrolled in Sally lagerquist review I have used hurst in the past and got my money back due to failing the exam I'm sorry for any confusion I recommend buying the Davis q and a book it has tons of questions I think answering a lot of questions is key to passing I'm trying to do about 7000 before taking the test again hope this helps in some way I have some nursing friends who used hurst they said to focus on the 6 exams but they recommend doing more questions than what hurst provides

Luvnsg3 and Ann113, Do not despair and don't beat yourselves up for not passing because you are not alone!!! I can relate and know the anguish you are going through, because it took me 5 attempts to pass..... do not let this test break you, you can do it!! I too had used every review (Kaplan, Hurst, NCSBN) and book imaginable to study... Keep it simple and don't stress yourself out. There are links on here also for free for NCLEX 3500 and NCLEX 4000 as well as Kaplan question trainers. Most importantly you need to believe in yourself again - you were able to pass nursing school, so you can pass this test. Take some time off, clear your mind and then go back after it again like you have NEVER taken the NCLEX before. Start fresh, and know that you have support and people that have been in your shoes and will support you through this. Don't quit! you can do it!!! You will have that RN after your name too!! :tinkbll:

I also have failed NCLEX three times and am very frustrated. What do your scores show when you receive them? I keep getting "near passing standard" and "above passing standard" on every level, after taking it three times and all three times cutting off at different number (265, 257, 75) I do not have an area "below passing standard." I have also done Saunders, Hurst Review, Kaplan review and nothing seems to be anything like I see on boards or help me prepare. I do really well on all practice test from Hurst and Kaplan but yet can't seem to do well enough on boards. Any suggestions?
Oh Ok....I will take a look for the Davis book, is it the second edition from Sally Lagerquist? And How is the Sally Lagerquist review? What does they teach you? Do you go to the class or online review class?
