As stated on my title, I have failed my NCLEX RN 5 times. I just found out yesterday that I finally passed on my 6th attempt! Let me share with you my journey to becoming an RN.
First of all, I am an international graduate. I graduated back in October 2014 and came here to California on April 2015. I took the NCLEX for Nevada on November 2015. I thought i was prepared for it. Bought the holy bible of NCLEX the Saunders sixth edition, took a 10 day review class, and did uworld for the question bank. Did 137 questions. Found out on thanksgiving day that I failed. I was devastated, I've never failed this big of an exam before. Family told me to just keep going and try to schedule as soon as possible.
Second time taking the NCLEX RN, i took it 3 months after my first attempt since it was right by the holidays and I gave my self a break. This time I tried doing it by myself just by Uworld and the notes that I got from my previous review center.Took it on February 2016. Did 147 questions. Thought I would pass this time. Failed again. This time i wasnt only sad but frustrated that I failed.
Third time in writing the exam, I prepared using Hust review since they boast a 98% passing rate. I thought the content was pretty good and well organized. Question bank was not so good, so I opted for the free Kaplan qbank. Took this 3 months later again on May 2016, did 183 questions, and failed once again. This time I've started questioning my self what am I doing wrong and of course was extremely devastated. I decided to work first to compensate for all the tests and review materials I have used till now.
Fourth time. One year later. April 2017. I was all over the place. Trying to study by myself again. I thought I would be able to work through it. Used Uworld question bank and I actually used ATI review as well. However I did not finish the ATI review but was able to get done with the Uworld questions. I did 75 questions. I thought this time I would pass, but again to no avail.
Fifth time, this time i took it 4 months later. I had a lot of things going on with me during this time. I took the Kaplan review course and also did their 3 day live review. The live review didnt really help because we just talked about questions and techniques on how to answer the questions. I thought when they meant live review it would be about content. This time I went all the way to 265 questions. Again, I failed. By this time I was feeling numbed to the pain. Of course I was still extremely disappointed on my self and ask myself if i chose the right profession.
Sixth time in writing the exam. One year later. 2018 comes around and I finally got the courage to try again. I applied on March for my exam again. Enrolled in a review class that will start on April but they handed out their reading materials when I applied mid March. I tried out America Healthways Education Center. After a year of being out of the whole NCLEX mentally, this review center was perfect for me. It not only touch base with nursing content but also techniques in taking the exam. The professor of the class is well experienced in teaching topics about NCLEX. This class rekindled the fire inside of me and I was thoroughly listening to every detail of the lecture. I studied diligently and prayed hard for this to be my final take on this exam. I did NCLEX RN mastery app for questions and luckily was able to borrow a uworld subscription from a fellow student of the class that just recently passed her exam. Took the exam on May 21, 2018. Did 265 questions again. I for sure thought I failed. I felt that my answers were all wrong. I kept my prayers for it but still wasnt expecting much because lets be honest, after failing so many times I had to develop a way to cope for the depression. Found out May 25, while I was at work, I FINALLY PASSED! I could not believe it. I am still in shock till now. All the effort I gave for this exam has finally paid off!
I wanted to share this to everyone out there that is in need for motivation and encouragement. I know how it feels to be the one that's depressed and in a hole I didn't think I could climb up from. I read through posts in this website about people passing after 5 attempts and that kept me going. What really hit me was a post about a person failing 13 times and finally passed.
Don't compare yourself to everyone else. Everyone is different. I was guilty of doing that to myself. I encourage you to keep striving for your dreams and goals and never give up. Study hard, keep praying, and have faith!
I highly suggest taking the review class of America Healthways Education Center. If you are around the orange county area, this is the best place to review for your exam.

I wish you all the best of luck future RNs!

Congratulations!!!
You are an inspiration for all of us repeat test takers trying to stay motivated and encouraged to try again, the kind of nurse you will be is not determined by this exam and it doesn't matter how many attempts it took, the best part is not giving up! Thank you so much and all the best is yet to come !!

Nclex is a game/system. I failed twice at 265 and 3rd time failed at 75 lol it's like ok soooo I went backwards... and people who pass at 265 ...like does that mean they were 1 question better then me...5 questions better than...meaning they are a safe nurse cuz they answered the last question of 265 right? You get what I'm saying I wish I would of passed but hey god did not write it that I would pass this time. It's so stressful and yes dont compare yourself to others. There are people who passed at 75 and I'm like how? Theres no way and we had super smart 4.0 students in nursing school failed 3 times at 75. That's why I say nclex is a beast/game/system you have to figure out how to beat. Good luck on your future best of luck.

Hi
I have failed four times and frustrated! Is this class just for foreign students. I need to try something else. I know I can do it.

I took my NCLEX for the second time, finish all my questions both times and failed. I am feeling very bad right now.
