Don't feel too bad, many people fail it and become great nurses. I don't know where you went to school, but the biggest tip we got was to apply Maslow's heirarchy before answering the questions. That way, you won't even have to consider one or two answers. It really helped me when I took my test. Also, we had to answer at least 100 NCLEX type questions per day (at least) in the months before the test to help us get used to the types of questions--make sure you read those rationales!! I did feel like crap after the test and was so confused about how I did. I passed and you will too! Super good luck!!!
Yes....I failed the nclex the 1st time. I was so confident that I had passed the exam. After the test I wasn't worried and stressed out while waiting for the results. When I received the results I was shocked...I couldn't believe that I had failed!!!So after crying for 3 days I decided that I needed to figure out what to do so this wouldn't happen again. I have been looking on the internet for different ideas for studying and I came across this teaching solutions program. I was wondering if anyone has tried this program and what they thought of it.
If anyone could give me any tips on study materials or what they did to pass I would truly appreciate it.
Did you try KAPLAN? I thought it was the best prep and they also have KAPLAN review classes available that some of my peers thought was a better review in a few days than all of nursing school. I didn't take it but my hospital pays for it for new grad hires. I did however use Kaplan, Saunders, Mosby, Lippincott, Delmar review guides. They also helped during nursing school.
If you are talking about teachingsolutions.com I would not risk the money for the program. Looking at their website I saw a lot of red flags such as testimonials claiming that their program really helped with the essay questions when there are no essay questions on the nclex-rn. Additionally, there were several testimonials that were horribly written in broken English. Did not sound like a comment that anyone from my nursing school would have written, even those that spoke English as a second language.
