Unfortunately, I failed the nclex- rn my first time around. I didn't just fail .. I bombed the exam at 76 questions. There's no doubt in my mind that the way I studied did not work for me. The only book I used was Saunders 4th edition. I completed the book from front to back and reviewed using the method detailed in the intro of the book.
That didn't work.
Could you please tell me what you used to pass or what you find successful?
Does anyone recommend me taking a kaplan course? What books should I try studying from my second time around? Are there any helpful on-line programs?
I was so discouraged at first but now I'm determined to pass the second time.

hi sorry to hear..dont worry you are not alone i failed my first take as well and passed the second time today..What i did on my first try was saunders only and nothing else but the way i study was not a good one, i was lacking in strategies and i was very very very anxious, then i realized my mistakes regroup myself and try again and this time i did saunders again using suzanne's first tip wasnt able to do the second tip run out of time so i studied on my own way using saunders CD by content everyday at least 100-200 items or if not at least 50 if very tired, Relax and focus and analyze and understand the rationale during your review and up till your exam day..this time too i did finished the entire PDA book by la charty and read Kaplan strategies 2-3 times.And most of all if you believe in Prayers, PRAY, PRAY PRAY...:heartbeat

Really sorry to hear this did you prati a lot of ques? Try Suzzanne's plan if you have the time there are a lot of reiew courses out there you should find one that focuses on your weak areas,(ques ans, content etc) just search on this forum to hear what people have to say about the different reviews.
