Failed NCLEX help!

you are in the same position I was in. I did only hurst my first nclex and failed. Then I got the remediation course and I didn't like it, all it was, was answering questions from each section. So the second one I did Kaplan and read the packet from hurst and I passed in 40 min with 75 questions. Kaplan was amazing I felt Kaplan was 10X harder then the actual nclex. Also do EVERY SINGLE test in Kaplan all q banks all question trainers EVERYTHING, that's what made me pass. Oh, and for drugs I got the med master course and they have a packet of all the endings of the drugs which helped me too! I think it's like 15 dollars a month and you can cancel at anytime. Thank you Karaa for the advice. In order for me to do Kaplan it is going to cost $500 for the class and then i am going to have to pay for a hotel on top of that. Do you think it would be worth around $750 to do the in person Kaplan or should I just do the online interactive instead? Thanks

You can always review contents from Hurst again but UWORLD free trial 7 days then 30 days for 50$ worth every penny. Their rationales much better than Kaplan and they have everything you need to know. Go check UWORLD> Good luck!

I graduated in July 2015. I failed the NCLEX recently, it was my first time taking the NCLEX. I used Hurst review to prepare during the NCLEX I did not feel like I was prepared at all. I was wondering what people's opinions were on paying the $500 amount to take KAPLAN instead or to do the HURST review remediation course. Comment with your thoughts please.

I think before anyone can reasonably suggest something for you, you'd have to have your Candidate Performance Report in hand so YOU know what you need help in. What were you near passing or below passing? How many categories? Did you fail with the minimum or maximum number of questions?

If you were strong on content but lacked critical thinking/application of knowledge ability, you'd fail, and a review course like Kaplan that focuses strongly on application of knowledge will likely be helpful. If your content is weak, you aren't ready for Kaplan as yet and should stick with a content-based review. Hurst is one, Saunders and LaCharity are others.

Can't recommend something without knowing where you are weak.
