Failed NCLEX for the fourth time. HELP!!!!

Published

I failed the NCLEX for the fourth time. I had my dream job lined up and ready to go. I am lost to how to go about it for the fifth time. I have taken Kaplan and Hurst. I am redoing the Hurst review in May and then testing again at the end of May. I would really appreciate any advice and prayers. This has been financially straining to my family. I must pass this time. Thank you in advance!

@nurse826 could I have more information on the eight week ncsbn learning extension.

i took the exam twice and both times went 265 questions. What I need to make me successful is to memorize content. All the things they where asking me about where familiar to me but I did not have enough detail on each thing to make a correct critical thinking decision. For example I knew about ABG and lab value ranges but what would I do to correct anything that was outh of range.

That is what my downfall was maybe that will help you know what to study.

Yes they do. I would not have posted asking for help if they did not. I asked for positive advice. Thanks

roser wasn't being critical. There are some states that don't allow multiple retakes. In the past, members here have been surprised to find out that their particular state didn't allow "x" amount retakes.

I hope you find a study method that will work for you.

You asked for advice. What Roser gave you is incredibly useful advice. I would check the attitude at the door of Pearsonvue, you'd be surprised at what that might do for you...

It is how y'all are reading it and are ASSUMING I had an attitude, which I do not at all. I told her thank you. The advice I asked for was how to study. Your comment was not necessary and being mean is not nice

Thanks! I double checked and I have unlimited attempts as long as it within three years.

what are you going to do this time around to study? I retake mine in may.

I just to my nclex and passed. I had taken it once before but didnt pass. I suggest you do alot of questions and go over how to answer questions on the test . Priortizing and all that apply i had so much of those on my test i thought i failed. Advice fore when taken it breath read every word carfully and defintly pay attention to how the question is worded becuse eventhough it sounds right it might not be the answer. Dont freak you will pass it

It's how you read it that you assumed I had an attitude. So by telling me to check my attitude is down right nasty and mean

You've already replied to this comment, quite some time ago in fact...

One of the biggest things I learned when studying for the NCLEX back in 2007 was how to take the exam. I remember they drilled into us in this order think: safety, airway, breathing, circulation. I'm sure it's changed though since then. I took the Dr Martin review course in Chicago... It was a week long. It helped me immensely and I passed the NCLEX my first try with 75 questions. I don't know if she's still around or does an online review now, but worth checking out.
