So..here I am..I graduated in August with my BSN, but I have taken the NCLEX twice, and I failed! So now, 1 month later Im ready to start studying again so that I can pass my NCLEX by the end of the year.
I purchased Kaplan NCLEX on demand, and now I am waiting for my coursebook to come in the mail via UPS. Any suggestions or comments on this product? Is it really 100% guarantee pass! I have read both positive and negative comments about Nclex on demand, but Im desperate, I need to pass this exam!
I also purchased LaCharity book, but Ive only done the first two chapters! Any suggestions?
I know many people fail this exam the first couple times, but I also KNOW majority of them pass the first time..its so hard not to want to give up, and its devastating to know I have let my family down...not once, but TWICE! ugh.
If any can share any words of advice with me, I would appreciate it!
First time, I had a lot going on,I went through a break up and that was just horrible..my report in the mail, majority was below passing range and near passing level..
Second time, I was still heart broken, but I studied ALOT! I had a study buddy and we did the whole HURST review booklet! I felt like I was alot better prepared this time around....well I failed! I actually ran out of time! How is that possible!? Then my report came back with 2 sections above passing level and the rest said near passing level!
Im thinking I know my content, I am just a poor test taker, I always have been :/
Im really trying not to give up..and to think positive.

i am so sorry to hear what you've gone thru.. i also failed nclex for the first time this august, and i know how it feels to think you've done all you could to pass. please don't give up.there are many others out there just like us, hoping that our day will come when we conquer nclex.
most of my friends who passed did the kaplan on demand, the others just did the kaplan q bank and also passed.i on the other hand, just read saunders for content on my first take.. i admit that i understand content very well, just like you. i think the problem we have here is that we need to answer more questions and understand more rationales, kaplan does a big help with that.
im getting kaplan qbank first week of december.. i will also be reading lacharity to add up to my critical thinking skills.. good luck and God bless, someday we will make it. we just have to believe we'll pass :)

I no exactly how you feel,it can be very stressful to finish nursing school and then be held back.I have failed many times also, with the HESI exit exam, which held me back 7mths.I too graduated not to long ago in may 2011 and never took the NCLEX because i just got released. It can hurt also when you see others excel and are already working in we are still here! Guess what i dont no you but i believe in you! Just stay confident and keep studying! What i have learned that you can study all you want but your studying have to be structured and focused to be effective! I feel that im grasping more that im organized in my studying! If others can do it you can too, they completed the same exact nursing program you did! Also, i have heard from many people that NCLEX is easy if you study the right material.....its not impossible!

i did the kaplan on demand...but i skipped the video lectures and did all the QTs and the Qbank. but before i started the kaplan on demand i finished the Lacharity book..only the first 18 chapters and dint even bother with the case studies...but i reviewed each question and read all the rationales... i had a set study schedule and studied 2-3 hrs a day...that was the only time i had..being a mother of 2 and having to manage my business...
study at ur own pace...go over what u feel is ur weakness in content...and do questions everyday...be consistent, pray and you will be fine =) good luck to you and god bless..
Thanks! We can do this!

i bought that kaplan class.
i did all the questions they have online (over 1500-2000?). the only thing i didnt do was review the course book.
i took the exam today up to 265 questions and i went to the Credit card page.... this is my 2nd attempt. So maybe review the course would have been helpful to me...
Oh no sorry to hear that! We can do this! So you didn't find kaplan to be helpful? What were your scored like with kaplan? Did u use la charity?
my score wasnt that good on the q banks (44-64% more in the mid 50s).
the dx, 7 tests, and readiness was 41-57%
i told my friends the scores, and they said theyre in the same range and passed with 265 questions.
maybe i wasnt prepared? i was also pretty hard headed. But thats the only thing i've used... so i feel like i should have read the book (because all i did was the questions from kaplan) and maybe buy the lacharity book to do more questions.
I hope it works out for you. I'm just starting kaplan, doing the dx test and then doing la charity on the side...I'm so scared. I have like 3-4 weeks to test..Idk if its enough time
do a few questions and see how your results are. I prepared for the NCLEX-RN 4 weeks prior the 2nd time.
the first time i failed at 224 with no studying while being jet lagged.
i'm very positive i didnt fail by much on the 2nd one. But given my kaplan results, i should have rescheduled and prepare myself better.
Anyway, let me know how you do. I'm going extend my kaplan, buy lacharity, and download that NCLEX 4000 and pray to god that ill pass the 3rd time.

Don't give up! I know you can pass this exam on your 3rd try.
I took the exam today for the 2nd time, tried the PVT and got the good po up. I use Kaplan on Demand and nothing else. I did what they told me to do. Answered all of their Question trainer and 95% of the Qbank. Dont memorize, just understand all the rationales. Also, remember the mneumonics for infection control.:)
Good luck to you, I'll pray that you will pass on your 3rd try. :)
