Very Bummed out. I was denied entry into the LVN program at MSJC community college. I made all the requirements, but with only 12 seats available its hard to get in when 80+ people apply. Now I'm left with plan B which is to pay lots of money and drive 2x farther to enter a vocational school. I don't want to wait another 6-12 to see if I can get in again and get rejected. I hate the college system for nursing programs here in southern california; bunch of bull ****.
Well, the person with who you spoke didn't give correct information. You were probably speaking to a secretary or someone who was pretending to know something they didn't. This happens often. Thanks for the info. i called the nursing department at my collage and they said when a school is not regionally accredited it means the licence will only be valid in California.
I attended a trade school LVN program in southern California back in 2005. Although the program was not regionally accredited, I was easily able to endorse my LVN licensure into Texas and Oklahoma.
How did you come up with the 10,000 price for north-west college? I went to the one in Glendale, and I was told that it cost 26,000. If they are only charging you 10,000. Then that is CR*P. Are they giving me a higher price than you, or is it the location? Or are you incorect about the schools cost. Please let us know.
The public LVN programs are hard to get into. Sometimes they have like 500 applicants and only take 40. The private programs are more expensive but you can get a class quicker. There are a lot of private LVN programs to choose from. Some have private or governmental loans.

Hey, sorry to hear you didn't get into the program at your school. Have you considered perhaps RCC, I hear their programs are pretty competitive to get into, but at least it would be less expensive than a trade/vocational school's price tag! I don't know for sure but they may offer the VN program at thier Norco campus that way it's not quite so far for you?
Perhaps you could apply to other community colleges if you have a reliabe car to commute, the gas and tuition there would be much less than the full tuition at one of to vocational schools, and if you already have your pre-reqs they should transfer just fine to the other CC's in the state. The school I am attending begins accepting apps for the VN program in Feb, and the program begins in June and ends next May. But I am out in the desert- a drive for you but it wouldn't cost you 10k either. Best of luck to you in your search, I hope you can find something that suits you!
