Trying to pick myself up after failing ANCC FNP certification exam and figure what to do now. I am already planning to re-take but do not know how to better prepare myself. I took the Fitzgerald CDs review twice as well as read through it a 3rd time. Looked through an assessment book, pharm and reviewed Leik's book. I am working on test taking strategies but would really like to talk to anyone who has failed and what they did to pass. Thanks.
Please don't judge, but I have taken the certification exam 4 times and have failed each time. I'm about to go insane. I took the AANP 3 times and the ANCC this past week. I know I'm not a good timed test taker but I honestly felt like I had passed the ANCC. Have any of you heard of someone taking the exam this many times before. I feel like Im all alone and wondering if I should just give up?
You guys are definitely NOT alone...I've taken the AANP twice and ANCC twice and I failed the ANCC by 5 points!!!!!! I mean really??? 5 POINTS!!!! I haven't totally given up...I've submitted my CEs for AANP but I haven't submitted and paid for my exam yet and I'm wondering if I should even attempt again? Not sure what to do and it's driving me nuts!!
You probably passed the boards by now. I took the exam last September 1st and passed. I did Hollier review and APEA qbank, board vitals, FNP mastery, Leik book and Leik app for Q&A, then bough Fitzgerald online review, did it from august 17-31. Then took the test immediately right after finishing fitz and passed on first attempt (ANCC). Fitz non-clinical part is awesome, for the clinical aspect I owed it to Hollier videos.
Goodluck.
I'm sorry to hear that. How did you prepare for the test? I did Hollier, APEA qbank, Leik book, Leik app, boards vitals and Fitzgerald online review and passed ANCC last September 1st. I spent 2 months preparing for this test. In between that 2 mos is work 3 days an week 12 hour shift and family of course.
HI.....If anyone is out there I have a question about the ANCC exam. I've been an FNP for quite awhile and
I am changing jobs. My new employer (in another State) requires certification. I let mine lapse about 15 years
ago thinking that I wouldn't need it, was busy raising a family, etc. etc.
I'm making a list of areas I need to study - for instance I've never done much cardiology or DM.
Any updated tips on passing the exam. I have 3 months to study. Will appreciate any comments. Or if there are any study groups going on.......
