Someone at my ER was talking about our new director as having this? I think it is some kind of Fellow or something, but I have no idea what is required to get it or what it is for. Thanks all. She is a Dr (PhD).

FAAN =Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing
The Academy is constituted to potentiate the contributions of nursing leaders in transforming the health care system to optimize public well-being. This leadership is grounded in a global perspective, enriched by diversity, and actualized through partnerships with other health care and consumer groups.
---part of ANA for nursing leaders.

Membors of American Academy Of Nursing nominates nurses for Fellowship----
One of the criterion for Academy membership is recognition by one's peers of having made outstanding contributions to nursing over and above those which are required in one's position of employment. Each nominee also must be sponsored for membership by two Academy fellows.
