Hi!
Anyone please share your experience or knowledge on the license requirement of the California Board of Nursing. California BON requires a copy of the local license from the country where the course is finished. However, in the absence of such license, as stated on its website, they only require an explanation letter for the absence. I sent an explanation letter together with my application form stating that I still do not have a license since I just graduated. I took the June local board and awaiting the result. Despite the explanation letter, I just received a letter from them asking for a copy of the local license.
I would highly appreciate anyone who can enlighten me. Pls send reply to email: Thank you and regards. George
But that is no longer an acceptable response for the BRN. If one is a green card holder, they are still a citizen of the Philippines and are not exempt from that exam. Just consider yourself lucky, it is no longer the case for most.
lucky? i think not, my friends, and other friends' friends. who didnt take the local exam and also are immigrants have received their ATT and some of them already passed and got their licenses. maybe you should check your sources. its not only me.

If you have a read on here we have had many members report they have had problems with Ca and the fact that they would not accept letter saying they are US immigrants and have no intention on working in the Philippines. We have also had USC who have trained in the Philippines and can not sit local exam have problems and have had to bend over backwards to get the information to Ca. You may have been lucky but a lot of members applying to Ca and immigrants haven't been
