I did Saunders quizzes in the back of each chapter. Hesi is easy, it is knowledge based. Do not buy the Hesi book or Hesi CD, it does not help. I passed Hesi on my first try, but I took Nclex today and I know I failed. Hesi is not a good predictor. The Nclex is more critical thinking which the Hesi will not prepare you for.

I did quite well on the HESI. I would focus on concepts and critical thinking. The Saunders book is quite good. The Hesi book is good for quick review of core content. I like Saunders better.

I did really well on my school's exit HESI. I used the HESI book along with their CD. I didn't feel the test was very hard and like the OP said, it does not help with critical thinking at all. I felt the HESI was much easier than the NCLEX.
Good luck!

First tip of my program works great for the Exit HESI. You can find it posted above and then you will already have the book to help you prepare for the NCLEX exam.
Best of luck to you.
I know you mentioned that the 1st tip will help pass the Hesi, but the first tip is basically a review. What about practice questions other then the quizzes is there any others that will help. How many questions should I do to prepare for the Hesi? Should I do the Saunder's cd as well to study for the Hesi?
If you have the HESI book, there are critical thinking questions at the end of each chapter. I like to review those while I am driving. My favorite review book is Saunders. I like it because it helps reinforce the material in nursing school. For example, we are doing critical care airway management and respiratory issues. I read the text and now I am reading Saunders. At the end of the Saunders chapter, I can answer the questions. This is a great way to study for the NCLEX while studying for nursing school.
