Do I need to be working in healthcare or have prior healthcare experience to get an ADN from this college? I looked on the website and couldn't find. I live in N. CA where all schools are impacted and am wondering if this is an option for me to get my ADN. I have all GE requirements taken care of plus all science pre-reqs. Any ideas? Also, is this a reputable online school? Thanks!

California does not accept Excelsior. I think they stopped in 2003. I recently read also that they endorse case by case but since you don't have alot of clinical experience, then your chances are even slimer. Call EC. They will tell you.
Also to get into Excelsior ADN program, you need to be a LPN, Paramedic, Doctor, Respiratory therapist, or midwife. You can get in if you have completed 50% of a traditional RN program. If I am missing any other profression, someone please chime in.

There are other options open to you if you live in CA. In northern CA you will find the Indiana State University LVN to BSN program operating. If you are willing to move down to the southern part of the state, you could attend the University of OK accelerated BSN program or the Western Governors University BSN program. Each school has its own requirements, but the bottom line is that these programs are accepted by the CA BRN. Know how frustrating finding a nursing program in CA is; hope you are successful.
Thank you all for the information! It was very helpful!
