Excited to start working at le Bonheur!

After more than a month of waiting, I am finally being hired on at Le Bonheur to work in their Special Care unit (NICU stepdown)! I will be a lowly utility aide, but I don't care! Methodist is awesome about paying for schooling, so when I start nursing school in July they will take care of me!

I hope that this will also help me get into an internship when I've finished part of my BSN program. yaaay job!

Congrats. I"m hoping to get an extern job there this summer! Maybe we'll rub shoulders.. hah.

Cool! Yeah, I meant to say 'externship'... the internship isn't until after I finish the BSN!

Congrats on the job. I hope you are able to accomplish your goal of becoming a nurse.

congrats! Lebonheur is a great place to work! we may run into one another since SCU and NICU are "sister" unit!! =)

I too was recently hired by Le Bonheur. I'm quite impressed with the amount of education they offer new nurses - I also plan on having them pay for grad school. Everything I've heard about this hospital is positive. Will be a weekender on 7West.

From the perspective of the patient's family, I loved the experience we had at LeBonheur in November. My DS had outpatient eye surgery & the folks were great. The preop play room was perfect for our little guy - he was 22 months old at the time & he's a bundle of energy. It kept his mind off food while he was NPO, which was a huge help.

I spoke with their patient accounts department today & they were as nice as they could be. My own hospital isn't quite as nice about the money part of it all.

If I lived in Memphis, I think I'd go for a position at LeBonheur myself. They're great!

Hisblueskies,

My son has been a frequent visitor to 7West since his birth in 2005. It is a great place to be if you're a heart kid. :redbeathe

Nothing but praise for LeBonheur.

I am trying to begin the LPN course this fall.

Does anyone know if LeBonheur will hire an LPN? Or any ideas on pay rates?

I am hoping to land a spot at LCMC in the future.

Congrats to all of you!

Methodist-Lebonheur is a good company to work for...I've been here for almost 7 years. I'm a 3rd year nursing student and they have paid for all of my tuition costs. I worked at Leb for 3 years, then transferred to the adult hospital. The only downside that I have found with the company is the flexibilty for students. If you are lucky enough to get a nurse tech or nurse extern position then you can only work up to 8 hours a week!

i'm trying to get on at le bonheur (i graduate next month) and it really has been like pulling teeth. how was everyone else's process? i've been in contact with the recruiter, but the steps seem to be going very slow. for example - it was a week between the time i was initally called and was able to speak with her again. now it has been a week since she told me she was setting up interviews for me and i have currently heard nothing more from her.

frustrating!!! or maybe i am just a 4th semester stressed nursing student with a future up in the air. :p in any case, i just wondered how the process was for the rest of you who work or have worked there. in the event this really is looking grim for me - i have started putting in applications at other places just to take care of myself.

and congrats to the op!!! i so did not mean to hijack your thread, honest! i really am way less narcissistic than i seem in this thread. promise!

LOL - no worries. I don't feel hijacked. :sasq: I haven't seen anyone use the Sasquatch smilie so I figured I'd use it.

I thought they would be quicker about hiring RNs, but maybe it's as slow as it was with me. I talked to the boss in either late November or early December about the job, and I didn't start until Feb 16. It took a long while.

Good luck getting here! Be patient with the system. :lol_hitti

LOL!! Sasquatch smilie is very fitting in this case. Thank you for your response also! I have an interview at another hospital in Memphis on Thursday and will see where that takes me. I would still LOVE to work for Le Bonheur - but I really want to start my internship right after graduation, so I'm naturally going to go with whatever I can get that will offer me that. Still haven't heard a word back from the Le Bonheur recruiter. Hopefully this interview pans out as this hospital is my 2nd choice. :)

Best of luck to you in everything you do! And once again, thanks for your response.
