I just applied to Excelsior for the associate program! I am so excited to get started; I have already printed out the study guide for health safety, and am studying my heart out! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for posting their positive experiences with this program; this is why I chose to go through them and not wait for my community college program. Glad that I have such a great place to go and talk with other people going through the same thing.
if you are planning to move back to ca you need to know that ca does not accept ec grads in any form or fashion if they completed the program after december 6,2003. this is not a state that will let you apply for reciprocity unless some marvelous revelation has happened in the last several months . i am not sure where you were looking on the bon site but here is the link to the section on ec grads. i just don't want you making a mistake then regretting it ....good luck to you.:wink2:

i will be moving back to california, but it will be at least three years. according to what i have read, an rn with a degree from excelsior can apply for reciprocity with 2 years experience in another state.
Update!! I received my transcript review today and am on my way to actually enrolling! Can't wait! I have already taken one exam (one of the ones you could take before enrolling...I can't even remember the name of it anymore lol) and am waiting on the enrollment process to take the next. Thanks for the info and the support. Hopefully I will be posting something along the lines of have CPNE date soon!

Something else I forgot to mention; I currently work for the VA...it doesn't matter what state you are working in; as long as you have a license for a state in the US, you are good to go. If this is still a problem and we do go back to CA, then I will stay with the VA.
