Excelsior Transcripts

Nursing Students Online Learning

Here's my question regarding Excelsior College transcripts, how do they look after you have graduated? I'm planning on taking some courses that aren't applicable to the degree AFTER I complete the CPNE. I want to take the Psychiatric/Mental Health Exam & Maternal & Child Nursing Exam which both courses are upper level courses that aren't applicable to the degree along with the 120 hour preceptorship that's required by Arizona BON. What I'm going to wait on is graduation. I don't want confer graduation until after all of the exams are taken. I've spoken to Excelsior College and they really have no idea what I'm talking about and they wont send me a sample of nursing transcripts. Has anybody taken any exams for Excelsior that DON'T apply to the degree? Is there a section that states courses not applicable to the degree, and then it lists the courses that you received credit for? Or do they lump all of your courses that you took through Excelsior together, and at the bottom stating something like not all courses that were taken are applicable to the degree. My AA degree lists all of my courses taken whether they were applicable to my degree or not. Then at the top it stated my degree earned along with my basic information. Can anybody please tell me what their transcripts look like?

sorry guys I am bumping

If the credits are not used toward the degree, they do not appear on the transcripts at all.

I have a degree already and my transcripts show my degree awarded, and then there's a line that seperates that information from the classes that I actually took. Then below that line has all of the courses that I took from that college whether they were required for my degree or not. I had changed majors twice when I went to university. Then there listed was that I had attended two junior colleges and the names of them each showing that courses were transfered in, but no courses listed. From the transcripts that I've seen belonging to others seem to look like mine. I don't know if it's across the board or what. I also think that if you took courses at a college they have to post them on your transcripts as they are part of your gpa regardless. They just may not count towards your degree. Hope you find the answers that you're looking for.

I have Excelsior ADN transcripts, and I am saying that if the class was not used towards the degree, it does not appear on the transcripts.

Lunah did you take courses through Excelsior that weren't used towards the degree? I'm saying this because I'm having a hard time believing that a school would offer courses and then not post them on your transcripts whether they counted towards the degree or not. If a school offers a course then how can somebody prove that they passed it or not if it's not on the transcript?

Nope. Good point -- if they were EC classes, they should be on there, but I wonder if they'd be on a separate transcript? Hmmm.

Lunah did you take courses through Excelsior that weren't used towards the degree? Is that how you know that they don't appear on the transcript? Sorry I forgot to add the last part.

LOL, I'm looking through my transcripts now to make sure that all the classes that I took are on my transcripts. I see a lot of courses that I took that are not a part of my degree program but they still show up on there. My transcripts look like they were printed on an okidata printer LOL. Lunah what do your transcripts look like from start to finish? I have a bunch of information on how to spot fraud on transcripts and some policies on how transcripts are unofficial or official.

I have official student copies, but they are not with me. I am in Texas doing Army training, my transcripts are in Virginia. However, if they had non-degree-related courses on them, they would have been several pages long, not just two.

I found this online and I'm wondering if it's updated or not. Lunah what do you think? Do your resemble this?

I'm sort of confused regarding this issue. Lunah's transcripts are not fake. She has answered the question from the original post. Only the credits applicable to her degree are listed on her official transcripts. All of her many credits are not listed on the Excelsior transcripts.

If there is another question please clarify it so people can help...

As far as I know only the courses applicable to your degree are listed on the transcript. If you are taking courses to transfer elsewhere you will request a separate transcript listing those as they are not applicable to the degree.
