Excelsior RN grad job hunt??

Nursing Students Excelsior

The answer: NO!

Hey everyone! I'm back to update you on my journey on finding a job at the hospital. Today I interviewed with the CNO at my hospital, and it went great! Not once did she ask me about excelsior or felt uneasy about hiring me based on where I got my nursing degree. She was more concerned about my experiences at my previous job. When you sit for an interview, feel proud that you are an EXCELSIOR grad, you have just graduated from a FULLY accredited institution and it wasn't a walk in the park! Don't feel embarrassed or ashamed when talking to coworkers or family members.

Anyways, I was offered a job on the surgical orthopedic floor working days! I'm so excited to start. Hope all my Excelsior buddies are having a great day! Please let me know how the job hunt it going for you.

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Congrats, that is great!!!! :-)

Congrats! You'll be great!

Congrats! I'm thinking about bridging from my LPN to RN at Excelsior.

Specializes in correction.

Excelsior ADN and BSN grad here...now a CRNA. It can happen. You get out of it what you put into it.

Excelsior is certainly NOT a walk in the park. It gets harder and harder and they keep adding courses!!!!!!!!!!! And you can study for ever and the questions on their tests come come out of absolutely know where !

Specializes in Certified Med/Surg tele, and other stuff.

Never had a problem obtaining employment as a grad. At my previous employer there were three of us, just on our floor. Where I work now I passed a grad in the hall today that works PACU and talked to my DNS that was an ADN grad, now a BSN.
