  1. How long it should take to complete a med pass on 2nd shift in a long-term facility on a dementia floor with about 35 residents? I wonder if I should take this job if I am offered it. Thanks for your input.
  2. I just graduated in July from an LPN program in the State of NY and passed my NCLEX 2 months later. I am now working full time as an LPN and want to look into attending Excelsior's LPN to RN on-line program as a part-time student. Has anyone done this, and how much time a week should be devoted to this for studying? Also, is it true that it costs about $15,000 for this program? Has anyone received any grants for this? Any insight would be appreciated.
  3. Congrats! I'm thinking about bridging from my LPN to RN at Excelsior.
  4. I have retrained as a nurse and am really enjoying helping the residents in a long-term care facility. It's such a vast field and can open up many doors for you. - Hospitals, doctors offices, rehab., coding, etc. You will find your niche! Nursing school was great, but where I am now I don't care for many of my co-workers. (They call the Board of Health on each other). I try to stay out of the politics and do the very best job I can for the residents. I have had a couple of residents say that I am the best one they have. - This part is very rewarding, and makes me believe that I have made the right career choice!
