Excelsior is raising tuition rates!

Published

I got the email this morning and wanted to share.

Excelsior College's commitment to make college affordable for working adults remains strong. In response to the slow economic recovery we have kept tuition and exam increases to a minimum for 2010 - 2011 terms:

Tuition Increases*

Undergraduate credit: $20 per credit to $335 Graduate credit: $30 per credit to $455 All courses beginning July 2010 will be charged this new rate.

*Undergraduate tuition for military and their spouses remains at $250 per credit.

Credit-bearing Examination Increases

3 credit: $10 per exam to $250 4 credit: $ 5 per exam to $280 6 credit: $10 per exam to $355 non-degree nursing: $ 5 per exam to $280 All exam registrations received by June 30, 2010 will be subject to the old price.

Practice exams remain at $65.

Nursing

CPNE will increase $75 to $2,025.

Specializes in LTC, Acute Care.

Yes I saw that and I have 2 more ECEs and the CPNE staring at me. Oh well, must get it done regardless.

They raise at least some of their rates every year. That is why there is an incentive to complete the program quickly. Imagine paying only about $900 for the CPNE when it was that rate years ago.

Specializes in Home Health, Podiatry, Neurology, Case Mgmt.

yeah it does suck they raised prices but at the same time, the community college i was going to before their online courses were $420 NOT including books ect...so even with the price increase it's still cheaper for me in the long run!

Specializes in EMS.

I'm sure glad I just paid for my last four CLEP tests ;-)

So glad I will not have to give Excelsior another dime!
