Hello All
I'm considering Excelsior's online degree. I'd appreciate hearing your experiences...cost, recognition, accreditation, general opinions. Thanks in advance.

Excelsior College is a distance program for nursing. It is not online. Credits for general ed and prerequisite courses are accepted from many sources including CLEP, DANTES tests, and regular college courses. The nursing component consists of standardized tests. A clinical testing experience at the end of the program must be passed to graduate. You will find a wealth of threads and posts about the EC program on the distance forum. Their website is http://www.excelsior.edu. Suggest you spend some time getting familiar with the site. Also speak to advisors at EC. They are very approachable.

I did it and it was well worth it. Cost me about $10k including the CPNE and hotels and a re-take.

I did it for about $6k. Jobs galore. I would recommend working as you learn to establish a good resume and possibly get your foot in the door with a desirable employer. I think that personal experience and good reviews speak louder than anything. The clinical is a beast though. I won't lie about that. It's the right school for certain people, but not everyone.
